We stayed at Mary Jane Thurston 7/21-7/24/23. This is a small park and we had a spacious site, #13. The dump site and store were located at the marina, along with showers and restrooms, down the road. There is a path to the marina so you could hike to the store or to the showers but most people drove. We hiked the trail, for recreation, not to shower or shop. In the campground there are port a potties. We also walked the canal path to a small, quaint town twice. The canal paths were too narrow and town too hilly for bikes but we really enjoyed the walk and exploring hilly town streets on foot, very good exercise. The only negative are people who cruise through the campground to look at the water and gawk at the campers. The camp host is working on alleviating the problem because they are very obvious in this small, quiet campground. Other than that, this scenic small...
Read moreOnce again a beautiful place. The sites in the back are primitive to the tune you must park your car and pack in. This is nice however I wasn't aware of the fact and didn't pack that way. Filled with ' snitch society ' and ' it's all about me ' people. I was stalked by a man in a red golf cart for listening to a concert in my phone in the parking lot trying to charge my phone off my truck battery. This was at 930 pm. Listening to Billy Strings live off my JBL flip 5. You can't go anywhere. The sites are not clearly marked and I had to move my site twice in 11 days. There's clean water and a cold shower head. Shower house is at the marina. It's sketchy having to leave your camp without someone watching your stuff. I met 3 people that were nice. The rest I would not trust whatsoever. My reviews are always 100% genuine. I...
Read moreThis is a fairly small state park, but still worth checking out. There are several nice trails, the storybook trail is geared for families as it has lots of signs with animal facts that are great for kids. The campground is a bit small, which is nice in that it prevents over-crowding. There are vending machines with drinks and the office has a store that sells snacks, drinks, and other items. One of the nicest features of this park is just how close it is to Grand Rapids, which is a cool town, and to Providence metro park. The hours on google maps are waaaaaaaaay off. Obviously they don't close at 4 pm, they close at 11 pm. I have no idea where they came up with...
