Deer Creek Reservoir is one of the nicer reservoir's I have been to. It has plenty of different options on what a group of friends or a family can do. If you have your own boat or sea-do then there is a number of different places to launch from. As well if you don't have a boat or something to use on the water, there is a near by rental place. Also, there is a part of the reservoir that is at a lower water level, so they put a bunch of different floating obstacles that people can swim out to and enjoy. If you are someone thats into kite boarding, that is also available. With only 1 or 2 different places to rent a kite and board, there are plenty of different ways to get in the water. It is good to also know that the lake freezes over during the winter and ice...
Read moreGreat reservoir perfect for boating or playing in the water. It's mid summer and the water isn't freezing even when it's a little windy and cloudy. There are several different entry places to the state park so make sure to coordinate with everyone on which one you're going to. If you do end up in the wrong spot though you can get into any of the marinas with the day pass to another if you ask the people at the booth. The bathrooms have also been re-done recently and are swanky. Like nicer than a lot of hotel bathrooms I've been in nice. Will definitely return to boat and/or just enjoy the beach (but not at this entry it's boat dock only right now the beach but is under...
Read moreDeer Creek is a very good size reservoir. It has multiple watercraft launches. The largest is on the south end near the dam. It is becoming very popular for recreational boaters, jet skiers, and sail boarding. It gets very busy on weekends. There are two areas on the east side with places to picnic and launch smaller watercraft. There are overnight camp grounds on the south end.
I personally go here occasionally for a quick kayak fishing outing. It’s good for trout, walleye, small and largemouth bass. Always gets very windy in the afternoon, and recreational boaters can really make it difficult for canoes and less...
