Looking out over the Arkansas River toward Russellville and Dardanelle from the back porch of the Mount Nebo visitor center, I am filled with a sense of peace. The air is crisp and clean. The view is beautiful. If I had more time, I'd hike one of the trails. No time this time, but anywhere in Arkansas is close enough for me to visit, often. I'm not rich with finance, but I am rich with knowing all this beauty is so close at hand for me to enjoy. I hope you won't let the opportunities to share this land...
Read moreVery well designed and maintained hiking loop trails (some quite historical) that circle Mt Nebo. And even more trails outside of the Park. Amazing vistas above and below the vertical cliffs. Very friendly knowledgeable Park Staff and a good variety of soft drinks, nacks and free maps at the Visitor Center. Read moreWe hiked the Rim Trail. The route wrapped around. Some passages were narrow. Several opportunities for photos. The Waterfalls didn't have water. Disappointed about that. Views are grand. Two thirds of the hike is not challenging. You do have to watch you step. The last mile has several rocks various sides that could be challenging that you are climbing upward.
