Eastwood MetroPark Springfield Street Entrance — Attraction in Dayton

I love this park, I also enjoy walking the bike path to Downtown Riverscape. It is 4 miles 1 way. This park can be crowded at times but there is always a place to venture off to. Take kids to park, fish, walk run, bike or get out on the water. There is 2 locations 1 is the lake side and the other is park. The park has 2 entrances. The entrance on Springfield st. Is a much smaller parking lot, usually no parking available when its crowded go to other entrance...

This is a very nice park with good facilities such as picnic tables and a good variety of wildlife. The park is well kept and the trees are huge. A bicycle path goes through the park. There is a surprising amount of wildlife considering the number of people that visit the park. Turtles and great blue herons can be found here although they are easy to scare away. Check the weapon law here and carry whatever you can. Weird how aggressive unmuzzled pet dogs on 12+ft long flexi leads (illegal) are allowed but a service dog, under control, assisting a disabled hiker, gets yelled at by police to be leashed.
