The frogs at night are incredible!!! The trees and bushes are so lush and dense and beautiful! The park is clean and well maintained. You can barely hear any noise from the highway, thanks to all the vegetation. Bathrooms were good. There is a bird watching trail that starts behind the bathroom. Sites are all very flat, great for tent campers, but large enough for campers too. Fire pits have metal grates over them. There was a burn ban while we visited, so we couldn't use the fire pit, but we brought our propane stove, so no issues there. Little town just a few minutes up the highway for anything you may have forgotten. The wildlife is no joke! First the frogs. Then on the way back from the bathroom at 2:30am I ran into a opossum! We surprised each other and he just turned and walked of the road and into the bushes. And all the birds in the morning. 100% recommend 👌

Would stay again! I only didn't give 5 stars because it didn't have the best amenities of the camp grounds I've stayed at. I definitely wish there were more water pumps. And the bathrooms were small with only 1 shower in each (1 for men, 1 for women). But the bathroom stayed clean and never ran out of soap! The river is great to wade in to stay cool! We got lucky with the campsite we got, even though it was one of the last ones left, because ours had privacy. But I did notice a lot of the spots were not as nice as ours. Like a lot of them were connected to the neighboring spot without being fully covered by shrubbery. So would absolutely stay again but it's not my #1 favorite campground.

The campground is well marked, and maintained. They allow reservations. We went last weekend and it was NOT smoky. We feared it might be smoky because of a forest fire in that region. There was a fire ban in effect at that time. We got campsite number 16. It was a bit rugged and was hard to find an even spot for pitching tents. It was close to a restroom but not too close to any geographical feature (lake/river/view). The walk to a nearby river is 5-10 minutes long. We had two 4-person tents, one 2-person tent, and 3 cars...and we did not have space issues. Overall it's a decent clean well maintained campground. But did not find it exceptional or excellent in any way.
