Changed my review because third trip our car was broken into and $2000 in camera and hobby grade RC equipment stolen window broken out trashed everything.. so being a mile away from car no good make sure you have all your stuff with you and know your car is not safe in the parking lot ! Best covid19 social distancing if you ask me.... clean well taken care of!!! If you like Rustic camping and can hack the mile hike to the camp sites this is an amazing place so much to do... Definitely can't do it all in a couple days. The camp sites are beautiful right near the river so peaceful lots of hiking 2 disc golf course a river for kayaking or tubing a beach... We have been here now 3 times and still have yet to make it full disc golfing lol been here 3 days don't wanna...

I recieved this compliant in the email about deerfield park. During memorial weekend a group of veterans decided on spreading ashes of their fallen brother in the park. When they approached there was a flyer say how much deerfield supports veterans. To the veterans suprise the park employee said only memorial day is free admission to vets which was upsetting to them. For alot of Veterans young and old outdoor things are the only thing that brings peace to there mind. They gave up so much to defend the country but still deerfield is one of the only parks in the county who still charge these Heroes a fee to enter.

I highly suggest not going to this park theres many other better ones absolutely sad to read the story just wanted to share it...

Great park with fantastic walking trails. Multiple bridges to cross the river. Really good kayaking on the Chippewa river through the park. The covered bridge is a good spot for photos. The swinging bridges are tons of fun but can be challenging for some dogs and small children to cross. There is a very nice beach and fishing platform to take the kids and introduce them to swimming and catching a few fish. There is a nice disc golf course and a hike in primitive camp area. So many wonderful spots to hang a hammock and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and surrounding wildlife. I have also seen some tasty mushrooms to forage in the spring and fall...

One of my favorite places on earth! Great park for a leisurely walk, solid hike, run, xc ski, and more. Some delightful lesser-known trails in the back of the park (check out Firebreak Crossover and Two Oaks Crossover). Note the significant changes in terrain and vegetation between the west (River Loop) and east (Wildwood Pathway) sides of park. Decently fishing for panfish in the pond that is connected to the Chippewa River (along with the occasional pike). Covered Bridge area is great for a picnic on a warm day. Over 500 acres of Pure Michigan bliss.

$6 entry fee. I finally made it here mark it off the bucket list been wanting to go here a long time. Half way into walking big time rain storm the trails even with a map is poorly marked and muddy when rained on branches need trimmed not properly trimmed. Although this part isn't the fault of Deerfield but deep into the woods all of a sudden tornado 🌪️ alarm sounded I didn't get to explore the trails because of the tornado that was 15 minutes away but because of this we did spend $6 and we didn't really get to use it before having to evacuate.
