This is our second or third experience at a nudist campground and absolutely love it! The one thing that you'll find is that it's not awkward or weird and there is no sexual overtones whatsoever at this place. The people are super friendly, the pool is clean, and the talk is plentiful! Most nights people are getting together around a fire or at a table playing cards or games and chatting away like you've known them for years. This is probably one of the most welcoming groups of people that I have ever encountered. One thing that was a little bit sad was the fact that they no longer have the restaurant and bar which was a bit disappointing. But we definitely cook a lot on our own so it wasn't too bad of a problem. The path around the pond is lovely. All the streets are walkable and it's a very nice little community. It's nestled in an area where there are basically just fern farms around you. There's not too much to do in that town, but they have a great little Mexican grocery store that has some killer skirt steak. It's called Alicia's. One cool thing about this area is that they do have a game room and lots of books. They also have laundry facilities and the grounds are well kept. Cell phone reception and Wi-Fi or spotty at best. We were in site number two right on center Street. There are homes that are available for sale or rent as well as places for RVs, like ours, to park. It's probably about 20 minutes north of DeLand Florida and about 40 minutes away from the beach. But a nice little secluded area we would definitely come back! Making sure no one was in the picture, I wanted to make sure I got a picture of the beautiful walkway so you could see the path you get to walk along by the pond. And yes there are alligators there. But they were more afraid of us then we were of them. There were a few kinds of cranes and multiple other kinds of birds and lots of squirrels as well.

I work here,, but I WOULD stay if I were camping!!! I Luv th "Out In Th Woods" aspect of this place!!! It's not jus an "Out in th Woods Feel",, you are Actually Out in th Woods!!! We work hard to keep th place looking good and running good!!! Please do your share to pick up your own mess. Yes, we're dog and kid friendly, all we ask is you be respectful and pick up after them. Happy New Year, have a great day!!! TiGgRrrr

Great place for relaxing and re-energized with good people also we made some friends who will be friends for life. Park had good features that we were not aware of like Cable TV, free WiFi, Library, Laundry mat and a gift store.

We have enjoyed all of our visits to Sunny Sands and find it to be a very relaxing place to spend the day around the pool or walking. Most of the other guests are very friendly, and we always leave making new friends.

This is an AANR resort, which we like. First-time guests must complete a background check, which adds a level of safety for all guests and residents. There is a discount day fee rate for all AANR members and our entry fee for us as a couple was only $34.08. Non-AANR visitors must complete a background check each time they visit.

The grounds are well-kept and maintained, and all of the facilities are clean. A poolside bar serves full alcohol, or you can bring your own and keep your cooler at the pool if you have no glass. The drinks at the bar are decent and fairly priced. The bar has a kitchen, and you can order from a limited menu. The food is decent and priced well.

The front gate is attended, but we usually have to call when we arrive, and the attendant will meet us to check us in, collect our fees, and then open the gate for us. Annual members can get a FOB to access the gate unattended.

Service can be hit or miss in the bar/kitchen. Dee Anne (sp) does a wonderful job and is fast and friendly. Another bartender also does housekeeping and is incredibly slow, so we have learned to avoid the bar when she is working.

We will continue to return to Sunny Sands and recommend it to all our...

So went up for a day visit, Been nudist over 15 years and got to to Cypress Cove. The "office" had no lights or anything, we drove up the gate only to be yelled at that we need to check in, Tried to explain that we could not see anyone since all the lights are out. Then they tell us we have to pass background investigation that cost us $10 each (that's only good for 3 months) . If you belong to AANR you don't need it, ANNR does not do a Background investigation so a little confused. Had to pay full gate fee of $44.73 for the 2 of us after spending 1/2 hour trying to get it. The bar and grill does not open on Sunday, So wife and I paid $64.73 for 4 hours to be able to us a chair, sit in the pool for 1/2 hour. By-pass this place and go the Cove, Full liquor bar, open every day, full breakfast, lunch or dinner at the grill, 2 pools and hot tubs, game rooms,...ect for $50 if you have no nudist...
