Finally we found a clean and well maintained park. There is plenty of grass and sand at the swimming area. Lifeguards are alerr and the lake water clean with graded depths cordoned off for beginner and advanced swimming levels. An adjacent childrens play park is perfect for families, and the picnic tables and clean indoor restrooms make this a winning combination however you must be a Pennsylvania resident to enter. No charge to enter or park at Akenac park.

Very beautiful and well maintained. Nice bathrooms w air conditioning. Beach, boat decks, nice playground and seats. Only thing is wish there was covered gazebos near playground for parents to watch kiddos play. It’s so beautiful though it’s a destination park. Need to be pike county resident to Get in or there is a fee

We visited the fair at the park and had a great time…. Playground for the kids, bathrooms, and a family environment

Great park, free for Pike County residents. My family and I (2kids and wife/husband). I tried getting help from the front life guard. I was told they didn’t know if they were renting canoes/boats that day. I finally went to the canoe place and found a life guard who was polite and helpful. She told me I had to go to the front house and pay for a boat/canoe receipt. I went back to the entrance house. I was told $5 for 30 mins. However, the website says $5 per boat per hour. I was told the website was wrong because it is $5 for 30 mins. I said ok, but I wanted to pay for 1 hour. He said I would have to canoe/boat for 30 mins, get out of water, walk all over to the front house (about 1000 feet from deck), then pay for an extra 30 mins at the front entrance .That does not make any sense. The young lifeguard said that’s what he has been told to do. I went on and paid 30 mins and go on my day. While the experience at the pond was amazing, the process and advertising in the website needs to be straightened out. I think the people who handle this park need to be educated on how to handle us as customers. This was during memorial day weekend. Most people around the beach area didn’t even know they...

Great place for family day. Clean sandy beach great for sand castles, large shallow swimming area for toddlers or non swimmers & plenty of deep water swim space with a nice dock. Feel safe with the excellent lifeguards. Everyone working is friendly & pleasant. There are many charcoal grills & picnic tables available in different areas around the park. The6 offer volleyball court, bocce, Row boat rentals available for a nominal fee, clean restrooms, rec hall with pool table, foosball, shuffleboard & ping pong tables. The entire park is handicap accessible including Awesome large playground. Lots of sin & shame throughout the park. ...

It's a nice place to visit if you're a PA resident. Checked the place out online but didn't see anywhere that Pike County residents are $2 an adult, PA residents are $5 per adult, and anyone out of state is $20. Cash only. Had I known this, we would have gone to the dozen other parks around that are free. That being said, bathrooms were nice and clean, Swim area was clean (freezing, but kids didn't mind), and had a really big playground. And if you have a lot of stuff, bring extra arms or a wagon because you're not allowed to unload near the lake area and the parking lot isn't...
