Beautiful family and pet friendly trail. There is a small parking in the woods a quarter mile up the trail from the main road, and a larger parking right on the road. About a mile of very gently climbing forested terrain (with charming wooden bridges back and forth across the creek that kids will love) gets you to a scenic waterfall. Then if you're up for it, there's a more technical trail that climbs up more steeply up the creek valley and along the creek from up high with stunning views. But it's narrow, and involves constantly dodging fallen trees and scrambling up slippery rocks in parts so this part probably isn't for families with small kids or less athletic dogs. But persist and you will see beautiful views of the creek valley and one lovely waterfall after another to reward you for the sweat. Something...
Read moreGot to enjoy this beautiful trail yesterday. It was unexpectedly amazing. The autumn leaves made the whole place feel like a fairy tale and the weather was just perfect. It is approximately 3.7 miles long with some areas being a bit difficult if you have back or knee problems but otherwise, it was perfect. It is great for those enthusiasts photographers like me. We went on a Saturday and did get to see a few couples enjoying the trail, but pretty empty otherwise. I did not see a restroom. But am not sure if maybe the top road had one. So go before you go, just in case, lol. Make sure your footwear grips to the ground well as the leaves on the path can be a bit slippery. Definitely a place worth checking out if you enjoy trails. It reminded me of the waterfalls in the...
Read moreThis is a very pleasant 1.0 mile hike/walk easy enough for all, even children. The path is groomed with small gravel (wide & flat) half the way to the falls. There's several water crossings atop well constructed bridges & walkways. Once you cross over the metal-creaky bridge the path becomes a trail until you reach the falls. The falls are wonderful. Well worth seeing. Some people may hope to maneuver around the lower falls in an attempt to hike a more adventurous way to the upper falls. I say save the effort and drive to the Upper Falls TH on Emory Rd past PEEC and...
