Me my sister and my mom have been going to Delaware Park for the past 7 years and we go pretty frequently and have spent tens of thousands of dollars with there establishment over the years between us. With that being said I’d like to state the fact that they do not know how to treat there loyal consumers with the respect and courtesy that customers deserve who have brought such a large amount of money into there business and they especially don’t seem to care at all whenever you bring an issue to there awareness but instead they just basically give you the.. Well better Luck next time I’m sorry that happened to you and that they’ll take extra care to insure this doesn’t happen in the future. For instance I received along with my sister and my mom my monthly player rewards promotions for the month and in that flyer I was happy to see that on my birthday August 12th they’d be having a bingo day which I really enjoy. So all three of us went around 11 am to sign up for the 12 and or the 6 o’clock slot and when we swiped our player rewards cards none of us were offered the chance to play for either time slot and it just said that the offer was no longer available which really confused me considering it had been changed to where you sign up for which time slot you’d like on the same day as the event and given the fact we showed up at 11 am an hour before even the 12 o’clock slot but weren’t even able to sign up for the 6 o’clock one either felt wrong and not right as we were about to walk away we witnessed the woman behind us at the kiosk click on the bingo button and when she did both time slots showed up for her to click on and enter into the event!! So now my blood is running hot as I walk up to question this and find out why not one of my family nor I was able to enter into this bingo event when clearly other people were able too! So I walked up to the second floor and spoke with one of the woman that was singing people up for the upcoming bingo registration and told her what just happened and she said oh well it seems that means our event is full and only then did I tell her that after all three of us had been denied and got the screen that informed us that this event was no longer available we witnessed a woman directly behind us pull up the bingo event where it gave her both options to sign up too the 12 o’clock one and the 6 pm one and how we seen her click the 12 o’clock one and saw it print out and she proceeded to walk up to the event! Only then did she tell me that it was based on play and that we must not have spent enough money that month at the casino which means the first time I asked she lied to my face and told me it was filled up only then to tell me it was because they only allow people to enter there bingo event that spent some kind of specific amount while playing at there casino during the month of august and unless you meet that loss amount with the casino you weren’t permitted to enter into there bingo event which is so dirty and such a scum bag kind of thing to do my mind was blown! I mean I’ve had my initial feelings since the casino was bought by someone else and ever since I used to get like 150 dollars in free play a month and now I’m lucky if I get a player reward incentive card in the mail from month to month and if I do it’ll offer me maybe 25 dollars after just receiving 150 the month prior!!! So yeah I think now Delaware Park is no longer a decent casino to even consider and if your gonna play with your hard earned money you for sure wanna go with a casino that will offer something in return to give you a feeling of hope after taking a big loss or just to feel like there being somewhat fair about there practices..
Listen I understand I’m speaking about a casino where you need to know that your walking into an establishment that’s whole goal is to take your money however in my experience the ones that I enjoy myself at are the ones that treat you with a decent amount of respect and at least give you the illusion your able to possibly win some money. No longer...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Delaware Park on a Saturday afternoon. First, we bet on some horse races. We had some trouble with finding out the odds on the horses. We haven't been there in over 10 years. There used to be boards with all the statistics on the horses for the next race. We saw some boards, but they were for other sports, so it was frustrating not being able to find the stats for the races. We didn't let that stop us. We still bet a few races. It was exciting to watch. We would have stayed longer, but it was really hot outside. One thing to mention is that I am disabled and in a wheelchair. There is a door that says it's for handicap use, but it was not an automatic door, there seemed to be nothing different from any of their other doors. So maneuvering around that was pretty tough.
After a few races, we played some slot machines. The first floor looked new and modern, the slot machines were big and flashy. The upstairs looked old and dingy, and many of the machines were the old, mechanical machines. (It gave me a sense of nostalgia) We enjoyed ourselves on both floors. There are some table games on the first floor, but only a few. The restrooms on both floors were very clean and well stocked. Also, we had a couple drinks at the bar on the first floor. The prices were reasonable and the beers were cold. One thing I noticed is that you don't get free drinks when you're playing the machines. C'mon Delaware Park, don't be cheap! Every other casino we've been to has free drinks. 😉
We had lunch at one of their restaurants called 1937. Although casual, the food was amazing, and our server was awesome! Our waitress noticed a mistake the kitchen made with my food, as she was about to deliver it to our table. I didn't even have to point it out, she noticed it, apologized, had it corrected and brought back the corrected sandwich within minutes. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries and my husband had a crabcake sandwich. He wasn't expecting much from a casino eatery but said it was one of the best crabcakes he's had. My burger was very good and I don't know what they put on their fries, but they were soooo good!
All in all, we had a good time at Delaware Park. We spent more than 6 hours there, and just before we left, I hit a little jackpot, so I left with almost as much money as...

Good selection of slot machines. No smoking allowed inside casino which makes atmosphere much more pleasant for non smokers. Rest rooms are well maintained and they are normally very clean. Food in rooneys deli is very good and well priced for a casino.
Other food choices as well from a quick bite to a full service restaurant. Hours vary for food choices check the schedules to see what facilities are open and when. Casino is being remodeled so there is construction going on and some areas are closed on the slot floor.

Good rewards program. Good promotions for slot play. They do have table games as well mainly on the first floor. Not sure about poker area as to when there is poker as I don't play table games.
Casino is being remodeled to update and improve the appearance.
Entertainment on the weekends is normally pretty good and there is a dance floor. Live bands on Friday and Saturday nights not sure about Sundays.
The Cons. Parking can be tight. Lots of available parking but long walk to casino unless you ride the complementary shuttle which circles the parking lot regularly. Several rows of handicapped parking which are normally almost always full.
If you are a smoker no smoking in the building there are specific smoking areas outside. This is great for non smokers who want a smoke free environment, but smokers don't like having to leave the building to smoke.
