Be prepared to take your ten and then some here. They will take you early and seem to expect you to be here overnight. After reading the reviews, that's exactly what I did.
I arrived a little after midnight for a 0800 appointment. Checked in with the perishables shipping office and she told me it would be the day shift unloading me, which began at 0430. I got a door at 0430 but they didn't start unloading me for a couple hours.
Unloading took a couple more hours and then began the sorting and breaking down. That's what took forever. I just got a call (1311) with the lumper total ($182) and was told to drive around to the office. However, the light is still red and I'm still locked to the dock.
So as it stands, I've been here about 13 hours and am still waiting. Luckily my next load is FCFS until 2100, otherwise, I might have lost it.
UPDATE: Finally got my bills and settled with lumper. Waiting to check out with security. By the time that happens (there are three trucks ahead of me), it'll be almost 14 hours here. Even if you simply consider from my appt time, it still would have been 6 hours. Definitely NOT a place for live...
Read morePerishable order filler for 3 months. Simple job once the environment is understood. Hard labor, especially on the upper body. We ride around on triple pallet jacks picking cases from under 1lb to occasionally ~90lbs, using a voice picking headset to tell what what to do. The process seems 'somewhat' efficient after minimal thought. There are definitely better alternatives related to product placement and "check digit" stickers being illegible. Coworkers are especially selfish here, which is somewhat understandable considering that you definitely need to work hard to achieve their baseline performance standard. We receive 90 days to perform at baseline on a linearily increasing scale. There are very incentivizing discounts and benefits as well. The schedule is four ten-hour shifts per week subject to change by the bidding process of the labor union. Management is easy to approach and willing to hear any problem, vocational or not. Four stars for fit people in good health looking for very fast paced warehouse work. EDIT They'll wait a month after an infraction that should have been nullified before they fire you...
Read more3 hours unloading fast but the only reason i put one star bcuz the guard at the gate was not cool and so much rude. He keeps talking and dont want to listen to me. He started yelling at me because his trying to push his self that i dont have enough number in my PO for delivery. But i also trying to explain to him that i have it in phone and what he keeps on yelling at me saying you dont have enough number so i cant check in you. And me i told him right here i showed my phone to him and guess what he wants to prove that that make PO is not right. And wants me leave. But at the end i win and he got so pissed because this guy doesnt know how to listen. And guess what other security listen to me and check the PO on my rate con and appologize to me. Because that stpd one guy doesnt want to listen. And at the end i win the argument and get my door. The other good guard saw my PO clearly and he found out that i have the right PO and that stpd guy was very ashamed and he cant even look in to my eyes after his rude attitude. I just look at him and...
