A lovely, densely wooded, mostly old growth, park with a mix of views of sunlit fields, water features, wildlife and waterfowl - we saw beautiful swans on the water through the trees.
Wide, paved pathways. Ample room to walk 2-deep on each side. Paths appear to be accessible by wheelchair - double check their page details to be sure. I can attest it is cane-friendly.
Upon arrival, easy parking and decent sized. There was a beautiful, enormous flock of resting, Canadian geese in the adjacent field.
Friendly to dog owners/walkers for leashed pups. Many dog waste receptacles placed in the parking lot and throughout the park.
All dog handlers appeared responsible and created distance with their pups from other dogs and humans, when needed.
Able to get a nice, long walk (approx 45-min) in nature with friends...
Read moreNow, this park is just a gem. I parked my car in front of essentially a farm... My dog and I get out, and we see DEER happily nibbling on the farm, like it's a buffet! There's a whole trail that goes around the farm and through the actual park. If you keep walking, you'll find a bit of a rickety bridge to get you to sort of an island to walk your dog around and yada yada. Kind of felt...magical! Read moreGreat place for a walk/hike/run. You can snowshoe and cross country ski (bring your own). Lovely place to walk your dog. Part of the walk is paved which is nice for wheelchairs and those that need a stable flat surface to walk on. There are also wooded trails great for running and hiking. Very secluded and quiet. There are more trails across the street that belong to the Michigan Audubon. Great for bird watchers!! Restrooms...
