For what appeared to be a small park with a lake and playground, let me tell you, it was far more than that! If you choose to venture off the asphalt path and into the dirt trail, you will find several unmarked paths you can take that lead you by a private road along Crystal & Mountain Avenue. I love nature and I just kept walking until I became lost (literally and spiritually)! I eventually found my way back onto Diamond Springs Road from the private road. I briefly walked onto a homeowner's driveway that looked like a trail park and was unmarked without a mailbox, so then I turned around and went back down the road until I got to Diamond Springs. My first memory is of fishing with my Dad and my Brother John. I was always SO excited to get up at 6am and drive from Jersey City. We would stop at the Denville Diner , make the U turn to go to the bait store. I wish I would've listened to people when they would say "these are the best years of your life". When I was old enough to drive, I'd get my rod and tackle box and bait bucket and sit ALL day! The first big mouth bass was caught there. I have so many beautiful memories of this lovely place!
