This Is Not an Animal Park.

I loved it because my dog loved it * Animals are not allowed to be brought in, however mine is a support animal. Almost as soon as I parked, a park officer, very nicely advised me, no animals, I replied that he is my support animal, no issues, a smiling welcome, not a suspicious scowl and another lady park officer met us as we were leaving and regreted telling me "no animals", we had a nice little social distance appreiate chat. She said that me and my pup were welcomed to enjoy anytime we want. So for me having a tough time finding a quite place to train with my pup and some open, natural actual clean soft grass and awesome trails. Oh yeah then they have the lake & the streams. Weekends for IDK how long, you can rent or maybe they are free- Im not sure..its one or the other lol but kayaks & canoe's, a play ground ect.. Years ago the area was a mess, the water contaiminated I think it was because of the geese, I had to stop taking my kids there. The park must have worked hard, it looks great. I wish other pups could enjoy the park as much as me and mine did, Im happy...

Scotland Run Park is a lovely little gem of a park, with a lake (not too many geese), playground, picnic pavilion, nice restrooms, canoe and kayak rentals in the summer, and across the street is a nature center with a small museum, live animals like local snakes, frogs, and insects, and staff on hand to ask questions. The center runs various types of nature walks, and kid friendly events, which you can find on the website. There are hundreds of acres to hike, piers to fish from (one is handicap accessible), and larger events scheduled...

Used this park as a halfway point child swap on a Friday around 12 and Sunday around 3. Was impressed at the cleanliness and look of this park. Social distancing was not a 100% but not uncomfortable. Park had ranger presence that made me feel safe in an unfamiliar area. Not overly crowded either time I was there. Definitely a nice place to stop with the kids, eat lunch overlooking the lake and a nice play ground area for them to run around. Would absolutely make this a permanent go to spot when...

This was such a beautiful trail! A lot of bugs so make sure you’re coming fully clothed (even with bug spray, I would not suggest shorts / crops / t-shirts). Be careful with disturbing the wildlife since there are a lot of geese with their goslings and squirrels all over the place. There’s a great picnic area and the playground is mainly for toddlers rather than older children, but the swingset was very fun for any age group :) as long as you’re protected from insects you’ll be great

A nice park with canoes and kayaks available at the beach in the main entrance by the playground. The side entrance (Fries Mill Rd) leads to parking where there's a boat ramp, access to a kayak launch and a fishing pier. Went mid week, 90+ degrees, one boat and small group of 3 kayakers. Went back following Sunday. 81 degrees. Over 22 kayaks and canoes, one SUP (mine) with several people fishing off the piers and a long the bank and we still thought it was peaceful.
