UPDATE: The owner's response to my review is why I'll tell everyone I know to stay away from this farm. Completely unbelievable. According to other reviewers, I'm not the only one this has happened to. But instead of fixing the problem (probably a poorly calibrated scale), they insult their own paying customers. That's not how you run a business or keep customers. I would have gladly accepted an apology/explanation and deleted my review. There was a mother and daughter picking strawberries at the same time as me and they decided to leave after mentioning how sour and lacking the strawberries were. Besides them, there was only one other person picking on a Sunday afternoon. Won't be surprised if this farm doesn't last much longer, based on how they respond to fair criticism.
I went today because my usual farm closes at noon. There weren't a lot of strawberries to pick. Most were overripe and bug bitten or not ready to be picked and the field had a ton of weeds choking up the strawberry plants. I decided to stop and pay after about 5 minutes of picking. It's $3 per pound so I was a little surprised when my total came out to $10. I went home and weighed my strawberries myself on my kitchen scale and sure enough, 1.5 pounds. At most I should've only been charged $5. After driving 20 minutes to get here, I'm kind of feeling like my money would've been better...
ย ย ย Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. My family and I left this place appalled at the condition that these animals were in. It was clear that these animals are neglected horribly. There was no drinking water left out for them and if they did have water it was black and filled with mud. They were laying in 6 inches of their own feces and they were covered in it. There was no fresh hay for the horses and they are so depressed that one just stands with his face against a wall. People were in tears while spending time with these animals. How this place isnโt shut down and those animals not rehomed is baffling. They had their dogs in a fenced in area with no water to be found. Then, they were viciously attacking each other with not one staff person in sight. There is a sheep that was never sheered for the summer and the poor thing was all mats covered in filth. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for treating the animals this way. We will be reporting them to the police and...
ย ย ย Read more!!! NEGLECTED ANIMALS !!!! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY !!! I live 15 minutes away and have come to see the animals here since i was a small child and the past few years every time i go it makes me want to cry. The ducks and chickens are all kept together in one small cage with feeders knocked over and filthy water. Same with the rabbits. The animals are all mixed together jam packed into stalls. Matted hair, so much feces covering the inside of their stalls it looked like the place hadnt been shoveled out in weeks. A beautiful horse named Sally, has been absolute skin and bones for the past years that ive seen her, along with many other animals. Cows tied to a fence in a row by their necks with not even a foot of slack for them to move. All the animals are starving and you can genuinely see the pain in their eyes. It is absolutely heartbreaking, and i suggest reporting the place. Please please find somewhere else to buy your produce and something else to do...
