Holy Cross Hungarian Church — Attraction in Detroit

My name is Rico Martinez my family the Martinez family was a big part of this beautiful church when I was younger I was baptized and made my communion here I was as well a alter boy for a number of years I've even helped my uncle who was a Employee here my family has had numerous weddings and family party's here my family was one of the biggest family's from the neighborhood so we knew this church very well. Unfortunately we moved away because of the deteriorating neighborhood in fact out family's home with the double lot with a home in front and a home in the back of the property are one of the very few buildings in the neighbourhood but just recently me and a few family members decided to return to the church on mothers day to show our kids our old family church and the neighborhood were we grew up boy things changed in the neighborhood known as delay it has deteriorated badly but holy cross was still there and more beautiful than ever brought back many memories thank u for not giving up on this...

This Church is a total hidden gem!!! 💎 You're more likely to just stumble upon this then find it on any tour!!! The fresco painting on the walls are unbelievable!!! Fr. Kiss is not one to give tours, so you may have to really be on your best behavior to get a glimpse inside if you're not attending a Mass! So many wonderful places to see in Detroit that you'd never think of stopping by, except for a stupid review..... Just go to a Mass and enjoy this completely divine Church the way it was meant to be enjoyed!! 🤗 Then, maybe ask for a tour after you've participated in...

What an amazing beautiful church. The stained glass windows. The domed ceilings with arches, the beautiful, beautiful altar. The woodworking. Absolutely incredible on the inside. The bells when they ring right before service are beautiful. Please experience this for yours if not you do yourself a dis- service. The mass is as old school original as it can be . The stations of the cross look like they are marble. The whole church looks like it was taken from Rome and put here. Absolutely a gem. Best kept secret in Detroit, in Michigan for...
