This used to be my favorite beach. We discovered it during Covid and it was the perfect outlet to be out and not have to be all crowded with people. This year was an absolute bummer with them closing to redo parking lot and drive way. They just did the driveway. I also heard they were doing the concession and bathrooms and changing rooms but none of that was done for the whole summer. Then it finally opens and the concession is closed. So no snacks or renting of anything. We had to go somewhere else all summer. We went once after opening but without the other amenities we went elsewhere. A gem near Ann Arbor Area. The little lake surrounded by thick foliage. Shallow Lake offers a perfect beach for little kids. You can rent watercraft/ canoe or bring your own. Clean restrooms and changing area, an unbelievably cheap concession stand that sells snacks / beverages and ice cream. There are volleyball courts and walking trails. State recreational passport required to enter. Ideal for that barbeque evening. No alcoholic beverages are allowed. Park rangers patrol the area regularly.
