When we first visited this restaurant, we were disappointed when we found out that the chef had quit, which meant we wouldn't be able to try anything from their kitchen.
So, we returned to the restaurant on Saturday around 2pm with a group of 8 people. The restaurant is usually crowded, but you can always find a spot at one of the tables on the lawn (keep in mind that in this case, you won’t be able to order a wine tasting). After taking a seat, we placed our order and were told that it would take about an hour to an hour and a half. So, we gathered some patience and enjoyed the view and the taste of Georgian wine. (It's worth mentioning that this establishment doesn't have indoor seating, and all tables are located outside, which is not surprising for such a charming place.)
After a little over an hour and a half, manager (?) called out the name under which the order was placed and asked someone from our group to come and collect the food. It was almost 4pm, and none of us had had breakfast, so we could hardly wait to finally taste the dishes, but what awaited us was disappointing. For the entire group, they brought one portion of khachapuri and told us that we'd have to wait for the rest of the order. About 15 minutes later, they brought two more portions of food, and then the rest of the order arrived, with a gap of approximately 3-5 minutes.
The food was tasty, fresh, and hot, but it was hardly worth the two-hour wait. For 5 portions of khachapuri, 6 portions of khinkali, two portions of khachapuri-imeruli, and a bottle of red wine, we paid just over $350. It’s worth noting that the tip was already included in the bill.
Overall, the restaurant has a fantastic location, romantic views, delicious wine, and tasty food, but they definitely need to improve their service, as waiting two hours for an order...
Read moreSo we were up in the area on a Wednesday and a lot of places were closed. We ended up looking on google to see what wineries were open and came across Story. None of us had been there before so we thought we would give it a shot and I’m so glad we did!! Upon arriving we were greeted by their Rottweiler pup Simba (I have to say he may have been my favorite part of the whole experience) such a sweet boy. Anywho, the views here are absolutely stunning!! The wine was delicious, I got a glass of Kindzmarauli and my mom and aunt each got Chardonnay. Both wines were fantastic, so of course we had to buy some bottles to take home! Joey and his father were very kind and so informative about Georgian culture! They brought us out a Georgian dish for us to try, it was called Imeruli Khachapuri and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious!! They also have some other items on their menu including some type of dumpling that I’m for sure trying when we go back. I could spend all day there with the gorgeous view, amazing wine and food, friendly owners, and sweet doggo! Needless to say, we will be back and...
Read moreI have nothing good to say about this winery. One of the worst in my life. Total ignorance of the waiter. This was my first and last visit to this place. I went there with my children. They were scared by a big Rottweiler dog that was running back and forth and then stopped right next to my children and looked at them in strange silence. I told the waiter that we were scared and asked to tie the dog up and he just told me that the dog was friendly and that he was not going to tie it up. Then this dog stopped a couple more times and did the same thing, just stood right in front of my children and looked at them. There have been so many cases of friendly looking dogs biting people, especially children. So I will never trust any person in the world that their dog is friendly. This is just BS! I have never seen such bad service in my life in so many different countries. Trust me, I have seen many different restaurants. About wine tasting. $15 for 4 sips of 4 different wines. A clear scam. I do NOT recommend this...
