Hickory Meadow — Attraction in Dickson

When I think of Hickory Meadow, I think of the owners, Haley and Max. They went above and beyond to help in every way possible from planning leading up to the wedding, to the day of. They welcomed us for multiple visits prior to the wedding for engagement pictures, giving the grooms parents a tour of the venue, a food tasting with our incredible caterer (recommended by Hickory Meadow), and a final walk through to discuss all details in the month leading up to the wedding.

Now to list a few 'Resources' that are unique to Hickory Meadow:

1. The Hickory Meadow Couples Facebook Group. This Facebook Group was such a huge resource for planning including: Vendor Recommendations that regularly work with Hickory meadow, polling other brides for recommendations, Layout Recommendations, Decor Recommendations, you name it. The search feature in the Facebook group is so helpful as there’s been so much asked, shared, and discussed with prior brides. Haley has uploaded photos of included furniture, arbors, decor, tables, and seating. Also shared are pictures of rental items with pricing. Pictures from other weddings held at Hickory Meadow are great for inspiration as well! Being able to ask prior brides what worked or didn't work, what they recommended was huge. Haley always made herself available to answer questions or provide recommendations.

2. Hickory Meadow ‘Friendly’ Vendors: There is a huge community of vendors that have worked with Hickory Meadow regularly and are flawless to work with. Photographers, Catering, Coordinating, Bartending, DJ/Music/Entertainment, Hair and Makeup, Cake, Florals, Linens, etc.

3. Hickory Meadow’s INCLUDED Furniture, INCLUDED Decor Closet, and RENTAL Furniture make setup and decorating a breeze. You can really have a wedding here without renting any additional furniture or seating. But it’s also great that they do offer onsite rentals for specific furniture requests or rentals. We ended up renting fire pits for our November wedding. This was a hit for s’mores during cocktail hour and socializing on the patio after dark.

When I think of Hickory Meadow, it is so much more than a beautiful venue. What Haley and Max have provided is a huge value to couples planning their wedding. They are so easy and fun...

My wife and I got married 10/24/2024 and I even hate to make this review but me and my wife have been sitting on it since then trying to make a decision. I think the venue itself is probably usually high performing when it comes to appearance, and customer service but unfortunately my wife and I drew the short stick I guess. We paid the same like everyone else but got treated differently.

1.) We were given a list of APPROVED bartenders and signed up with one. A month before the wedding we were told that specific one was no longer approved, we were able to avoid a potential disaster but I myself had to do the legwork.

2.) They forgot about our final meeting before the wedding. Forgot is a strong word so let me rephrase. She scheduled us while she was in California and put the wrong time down, she adjusted extremely quick by all means but it’s just another item to the list.

3.) No real support during the wedding, we were told we would have workers help set up on the special day. That didn’t happen. It was me, and my wifes small family that had to set everything up. (Tables, Ice-Machine, signs, ect.)

4.) Mulch at the ceremony spot, looked like complete crap. It’s the first thing I noticed, but the worst part is THE DAY AFTER they posted about their brand new Mulch they layed down, you couldn’t have done that the day before our wedding? That hurt us.

There are more but….

ultimately we felt as if they didn’t care that we were there. That we chose them over the Six other locations we visited. The husband was extremely sweet and ultimately a really nice guy, and most of the venue was fantastic, but you made us feel like you put Zero effort into our day. Again, we drew the short...

I love this venue and the owners are absolutely incredible!!!

The Venue is gorgeous and you can really do anything you want in the space or outside under the string lights!!! The grove is breathtaking.

Max and his wife were very patient, gracious and easy to work with. I always got a response to any questions I had, and they made wedding planning so much easier with their superb communication.

We toured at least 10 venues, and talked with around maybe 50 or more (we looked at having our wedding in all different cities in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina Mexico…. ) When I say they had the best communication out of anyone, I really mean it. That was the number one reason we booked with them! Great follow up and recommendations! We appreciated the recommendations on how to enter the ceremony and tips on setting up so that food would not get wasted!

It happened to rain on our wedding and they improvised moving the ceremony inside like it was originally planned that way!
