Let's do the good first. Upon arrival to the Ranger station the young man was awesome. This Ranger knew his park. We had booked our campsite on line without knowing the layout of the sites. Well he told us the site would be tough for a pop up to get into and switched us to a better site. BOOM just like that! The best thing was he was eager to do it! Yes I know in this day and age sometimes you can't expect much but we were pleasently surprised. Our campsite was great. Shady and very quiet. People all around us and still quiet. Ok now the bad parts. If you are coming here to fish it ain't happening. Well you can fish, you just ain't catching anything. The lake is mostly Marsh. The road in is rough. Like 10 to 15 mph rough. It's not the rangers fault I know this. It's our legislators fault. Gonna write a letter about this one. "Hey y'all how about some funding for the road to the park. " I know they are getting some tax money. By the way everything was clean and nice as it should be. Love Little Pee Dee. Bottom line this place is out of the way, out of the hustle and bustle and quiet. If that's your thing you will be...

Living in South Carolina, I have the pleasure of exploring the vast beauty of the state. This park is one of the staples of beauty in South Carolina. It has always been clean at this park, and fishing is a favorite for weekend or weekday anglers. Crayfish is also a big thing here at the right time of the year. With a recently paved road into the park, the way in has been made smooth.

I've seen many species of wildlife here. I am fascinated by the juvenile Heron that skillfully hunts the lake and the spillway. There is a playground near the parking area for the little ones to have endless fun. You will also find multiple trails, a camp ground, and there are bathrooms in the common area. Want to have a cookout? You can do that too in the common area of the park.

If you're ever near Dillon, SC, on your travels, or if you're a native of the state like I am, this park is worth your time to explore. Rent one of the canoes or kayaks for extended fun or fishing...

I would give no stars if possible. Horrible experience. Host is nosy and overbearing. Park ranger Amy was rude and aggressive when approaching our site. Made us feel uncomfortable so much we forfeited our stay tonight that was already paid for. You're not allowed to put your tent in their pine needles under the pine trees as they call this mulch and says that the tents will destroy the pine needles. Told we can't forage for own wood. We were approached by 3 different people, numerous times, for not following rules. They expect you to park 2 vehicles and put 2 tents on the sanded area which is impossible abd even if possible, where do you actually hang out and enjoy the nature with your family. We will never return and I will never recommend. Mark this one off the list for good. Horrible, nasty, and not family...

Great park to spend a few days camping and enjoying the outdoors. Well maintained roads inside the park. Campground roads are sand while others are paved. All good for biking. Small play ground for kids. Campsites are mostly level. We had a nice view of Lake Norton... somewhat small and they were in the process of restocking so no fishing was allowed but we kayaked around it. A boat ramp is available and a nice pier. They have a couple of trails for hiking. Also ventured out of the park to kayak on the Little Pee Dee River. There's a river access road in Floyd Dale and another closer dirt road across from Big Horn road that is DNR controlled. This road is rough but it was worth the trip. Park staff was friendly and informative and hosts do a great job.

We visited here with our 33' fifth wheel rv for 5 nights. Although it was somewhat okay, I wouldn't go out of our way to return. PROS: Although we didn't need them, the restrooms were nice. CONS: To us...many of the sites were rather close together. The lake is pretty much nonexistent, which was a disappointment. Paying more money for a "lake front" site seems crazy when there is no lake. Maybe it is because we are not from the south, but the bugs (especially mosquitoes) were terrible. Idk if the sites were RAKED and cleaned up better if that would help. Staff blowing leaves and sand around (with leaf blower)doesn't help. It only makes it miserable for campers to enjoy the outdoors. Road going to the camping area definitely needs some work.

We loved our stay at Little Pee Dee! There is usually a lake, but at the time at that we were there, they had drained it for repair work on the local dam. It's still a beautiful view. There are 50 campsites, about half have electricity and all have water. There is a dump station and a dumpster located at the entrance to the campground. The roads around the camp sites are a little rough, but if you're going slow you hardly notice. Cell service for Verizon was great and consistent at about 2-3 bars for 4G LTE. AT&T cell service got 1-2 bars for 4G. Unfortunately, T-Mobile was non-existent. We'd definitely come back!
