It was a relatively short walk to the 1st big stump area. The trail continued on, but we didn't. The parking area had an area outlined for rv parking that could accommodate 4 rv's, and a one-way parking lot for all traffic. Restrooms were clean & flushable toliets. Trail was dusty, and I would recommend hiking shoes or tennis shoes. A new traveled trail is being constructed but not ready for visitors. There was a drinking bottle refill station out front of 🚻 building.

An easy turn-off from the Generals Highway, with plenty of parking for cars and RV's and a nice spot for a picnic. Paths from this area lead you into the stump forest. This is an amazing hike to be able to walk among the stumps that remain and learn of the cutting that took place so many years ago without regard of the significance of these majestic trees.

Great place to go see the damage people can cause. It leaves you saddened and remorseful, but also hopeful that we have learned from our past mistakes. Don't make this you're last stop.

It's a great place to stop for the restroom, stretch, or go for a hike. Not a lot of people know that it's a loop trail. Counter clock wise is the best. You will have to cross the street near the entrance to continue. There is a secret Sequoia tree. It's the Sawed Sequoia tree. It was cut halfway and was abandon by who ever cut it. If you looked on the back of the tree, there is one eye. Maybe the eye was crying when the person was cutting it and spook him away. The trail is connected to another trail to see the meadow and another...
