Hume is a beautiful lake even in the winter time. The lake is actually a reservoir on Tenmile creek, a tributary of the Kings River. It has an elevation of 5200 feet. You can reach the lake by following the high way 180. The trailhead is about 8 miles from the Kings Canyon Visitor center and the road is relatively easy to drive. The loop trail around the lake is about 3 miles with little elevation. The Parking can be a little crowded during the weekend. The Christian Camp on the west end of the lake is crowded all the times. If you hike during the winter, crampon and trekking poles will be very helpful. There are several decent picnic areas...
