You know how it is when family comes to visit from out of town, and then you need to find something to do. So, we decided to go to the RCGC in Dinuba, and practice hitting a few buckets of ballls at the driving range. When we arrived, the range was full, as there was an event which was ready to begin, and we waited for a few minutes as some spaces became available. The weather was perfect. A slight breeze was blowing, the skies were a bit cloudy, and the temperature was very pleasant. Shortly afterwards, the golfers began to leave, and soon we had the area to ourselves. It's been years since my visit to a golf course, but my 16 year old grandson was striking the balls out to past 200 yards. I was not going to compete with that. My nephew was hitting the balls very hard too. I hit a few....rolling off the turf, and then decided to watch others enjoy themselves. His son, a lefty golfer, was doing the best of the situation, using right-handed clubs. He never despaired, just smiled, and kept up with a good laugh and spirit. At one point, my grandson stroked the ball with his driver and it sounded as if he'd hit a bird, but lo and behold, the head of his club was flying down the range. We all had a good laugh, and then we waited as he walked away towards the flag where his club head had landed. We finished up with the buckets of balls which we had paid for and then proceeded to my truck. Now that they had worked up a good sweat, we decided to go seek a place to have a nice breakfast. As we made our way, we were able to see many of the golfers already going from hole to hole. So, if you're in the area, with some time to spare, or need to create some memories, stop and try the Ridge Creek Golf Clubin Dinuba, you'll be pleasantly surprised. They have a nice pro shop too...if you're looking to purchase a gift or just to hit a bucket of balls...
Read morelast played about 4 years ago. i must have forgotten how rough the rough is, ouch. it might look like on google maps that the fairways are relatively next to each other, but they most definitely are not. the fairways (when i was lucky enough to be in them) were great. the greens (massive) were firm and in decent shape, not super fast but true. the sand traps (of which there are plenty, and some are kind of deep) are actually not bad to hit out of, there was actually sand, or at least loose enough dirt. i was lucky enough, to at least, not notice a snake until i hooked into the rough on the 10th, as i was attempting a little search and rescue, i almost walked right by it, then it slithered into a hole, not a small snake.... no rattles, a friendly gater snake, BUT A SNAKE, went into one of those tiny little holes, THAT ARE FREAKING EVERWHERE!!!! IT'S LITTERLY A SNAKE DEN OUT THERE!!!! but a friendly one??? there's plenty of squirrels and rabbits for them to be content..... hopefully?!?!? i would simply say, STAY IN THE FAIRWAYS, IT'S MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN BEING LONG. even though it's not a short course. they have a great pitching area right near the entry way (wish i brought my golf ball collector) great practice area in general, super long, super wide driving range, good putting green. i used multiple devices for yardage, app, watch, range finder, all seemed to give similar yardage and worked just fine out there. there are yardage markers on the, completely paved, cart path. weather was great for me, early march, snow capped mountains in the distance, about 65 degrees.. great day.... if, you're heading out there in the summer..... bring shade and water, lots of shade...
Read moreThey have a happy hour from 3-6 and they have great specials. The same regulars are here during the happy hour and they’re very friendly. But their food is incredibly inconsistent. Their appetizers are great. Their sandwiches flop between mediocre and fantastic. But their entrees are awful. Don’t get me started on their breakfasts because even a toddler could prepare eggs better than they can. Their tri tip is so tough and bland it’s inedible. Their salads are great but overpriced. And their entree prices are wayyyy too high for the quality of food and inconsistency.
If you order chilli it would have a wildly different taste and recipe depending on who is cooking. If you over order easy eggs, even if you send them back to remake them they’ll still be over hard. Which doesn’t make sense because eggs are incredibly easy to cook.
Their cheapest entree, airline chicken is 26 dollars. You can eat at a local steakhouse for less than that this place charges for chicken. It doesn’t make any sense considering Dinuba is a town full of low income customers where every single restaurant around here is much cheaper and a million times more consistent . I come here regularly because they have great drinks, great company, and the staff is incredibly friendly. But their food is awful and inconsistent unless you order something simple like a sandwich, burger, or a salad. Do not order anything complicated or it will come out worse than a toddler...
