Short, but difficult hike. From the Raptor Ln parking area, it's a 1/2 mile moderate to easy hike to the "real" trailhead that was once accessible to cars. Then it's up up up on a 1/2 mile long wide rocky trail once used to get marble down from Gettysburg Quarry. Don't miss the Art's Bench lookout, a couple hundred feet away on a branch trail. The views are stunning on a nice day. There is an easier trail to the Quarry, but it is twice the distance. If you can handle it, go straight up.

Had been unable to capture unobstructed photographs of the beautiful Green Mountains and decided to head out to find one. Drove out to the Owls Head Trailhead, right off of Rt. 30 and achieved my goal. Since my interest was mainly in wildflowers and capturing this view, I did not walk too far, about 1.5 miles. Really enjoyed myself. Parking is limited (people needed to park a bit closer to the car next to them) but I was able to find a spot. Great day.

Very nice hiking. Steep ascent but there are options. See curious remnants of marble quarries and scenic views. The trailheads had good orientation, trails were well blazed and signed, interesting interpretive waysides on industrial archeology. The Gettysburg Quarry was fascinating! Options for mountain bikes too. In summer, beware poison ivy trailside, then cool off at the Dorset Marble Quarry (check prior). Nice job Hike Dorset.
