Farmer Dave's Farm Stand and CSA — Attraction in Dracut

I was so excited to come here this past Monday with my 5 y/o daughter after hearing great things from townies. I walked into the farm stand because I had never been here, to ask about PYO flowers. $15 usually for 15 stems as listed on the counter, but the girl said $15 and I can take as much as I want. I should have known why, but ignorantly and excitedly I proceeded to cut my flowers to find that everything was either starting to die or already dead. The female employee at the counter of course did not tell me this. When I came back into the farm stand with our pumpkins (pickings were VERY slim- but in mid October… I do get it) I told her I needed a refund for the flowers because (understandably, I thought) I didn’t want to take home a bunch of dying flowers. She didn’t seem to get it… she was very perplexed so I had to be blunt because I felt ripped off and I was not purchasing dead or dying flowers. I have seen flowers and plants in better condition at the supermarket. The farm stand did seem to have lots of fresh goods to check out, but we didn’t get a chance to look. Farmer Dave's is my absolute favorite place to stock up on fresh fruits & veggies! Everything is always so fresh and they always have awesome deals! Today I scored more Bell Peppers @ 50% off! Ever since my daughter told me about Farmer Dave's I have been going there the beginning of every month. I told all my friends about Farmer Dave's and have brought many people with me. Today I took a ride there with my neighbor Kasey, who has wanted to come with me for months. We picked up my daughter on the way and they both stocked up on produce. I am still stocked from my visit earlier this month but I grabbed some more kale & bananas for my smoothies. My Kale ended up going home with my daughter. 😞 I freaking love...

Always love me a good farmstand. A good selection of ready to go delicious meals and soups. Fantastic bisquits and creative flavors of bread puddings using seasonal fruits (highly recommend the apple cider donut bread pudding) and yummy apple crisps, ice cream and other locally made products make it a comforting place to make memories and find some really good locally sourced products. Pick your own crops Potted flowers. The usual suspects. Rising prices and the corporate model have jaded the American Farmstand everywhere in general.
