Canyonwood Ridge was our DREAM venue. I wish I could get married there over and over again. The natural beauty of the hill country coupled with the large beautiful windows made for the perfect indoor chapel setting. We wanted to find a chapel with natural light and beauty to be married in, and the chapel at Canyonwood ridge was the perfect fit! There is also a drop dead gorgeous outdoor option with a stunning view, but we wanted the chapel from the beginning. Our guests used it for photo ops. The chapel has the feeling of being outside due to the huge windows and natural light, without the heat/cold/rain/ unforeseen weather chances. So it’s a great backup option if you want outside, but it was our perfect Plan A. I loved the dramatic effect of the large doors on the chapel for my reveal of walking in with my father! (My groom teared up, it was perfect.) The bridal suite was so cozy and clean with large mirrors for our hair and makeup team to pamper us. We were served mimosas and lounged around all morning long preparing for the ceremony. There is also a groom’s suite, which could be used for hair/makeup if you have a larger bridal party and the bride suit feels too crowded. I also used the venue for my bridal portraits. They included time for either our engagement photos or for bridals as a part of our package. I just love the oak trees and lawn for our outdoor photos, you just can’t beat the scenery for stunning photos! Being a covid couple, we contemplated lots of options for our wedding as the pandemic continued. We postponed our original date due to a combination of travel restrictions for family, not being able to get suits due to store closures, and overall uncertainty of the early months. The staff was amazing with helping us move our date, and we will forever be grateful they did! Amanda went above and beyond to help us postpone and secure a date. Our backup date, though a Thursday due to availability, was PERFECT. The weather, the scenery, the food, the drinks…. EVERYTHING was perfect. And YES! YOU CAN have a blast even with masks on. We loved the fact that they had several options for alcohol and that you could bring in your own liquor while using their beer, wine and champagne package. It was the perfect option for our crowd! We had our cocktail hour outside on the patio and the bartenders moved everything to the inside bars at the end of that hour. If you choose any of the preferred caterers for your big day, they include setup of the ceremony chairs, reception table and chairs and also cocktail hour location without added fees. They have all of the chairs and tables you need for a wedding up to I believe 300 people, so there was no need to rent any additional furniture unless you wanted a different look. We personally thought what they had on site was perfect. Finally, I HIGHLY recommend hiring one of the event coordinators for your wedding! We originally hired Amanda, but when we postponed she ended up having 4 weddings in a month and offered to have Stephanie take over so that we would have more personal attention. The team usually only takes a few weddings a month. They were both amazing and made our day so perfect. They are on top of everything and were always quick to answer my many questions! Their wedding planning guide and timeline was just what I needed to help plan, as I had no idea where to even begin when we got engaged. In conclusion, I have zero complaints and only wonderful things to say about canyonwood ridge. I highly recommend this beautiful...
Read moreCanyonwood Ridge has the most AMAZING team!! To start, AJ (the owner) gave us the most incredible and detailed tour and you could tell he was passionate about your day being a success and thoughtfully built this venue to make things easy for other wedding professionals to use the space. The textures, lighting, and layout of the venue is so great for photographers, caterers, etc. It made it easy to have a weather contingency plan and was helpful for our elderly guests. We left feeling so great about the venue and knew about 2 minutes in that it would be our wedding-day location. AJ was so quick to respond to any questions we had throughout the entire process and was always attentive to our questions or revisits (seriously, we were so proud of our venue that we had to show our parents and bridal party too before the big day!). His professionalism was always fantastic. Amanda was equally as attentive. She was always friendly, prepared, and detail-oriented with any of our questions and processes. She felt like a new friend - showed genuine excitement for us and we chose to use her and her team as our day-of coordinator group. Whether we had a quick question or a 40-minute plan call, Amanda never made us feel like we were an inconvenience. She’s planning her own wedding and I hope that it’s an absolute dream, just like ours! Lastly, Stephanie was our actual day-of-coordinator and my heart bursts for love for her. She made our day PERFECT! The little things that did go astray she immediately stepped in and helped: rehearsal arrangement didn’t quite go as planned and she handled it with ease. We forgot our toasting flutes - oh well! Stephanie had some. Need more vases? Stephanie’s got it! Don’t remember what items were going where? Stephanie is a genius and remembers your vision, and makes it better. She had a smile on her face all day and always had me and my bridal party fam in mind from the mimosas to getting ready to just feeling calm and great about the day. Our bridal party was huge (28 including the juniors) and she never once seemed overwhelmed or made me feel crazy for having a huge group. She was beyond organized with all of our vendors and knew the answers to everything. She was one step ahead of me the entire time and it just made my husband and I feel so good! We had so many people tell us how amazing she was - she impressed everyone. We love her and the joy that she helped us create. If you can’t tell by my novel - we love this team and the venue! The outdoor view is incredible and even though it was a little rainy on our day, we still enjoyed the scenery and got some great photos (can’t wait to get everything back!). Inside is just as beautiful so the weather didn’t really matter. I can’t recommend Canyonwood Ridge enough - we’d get married here a thousand times over! Thank you to the CWR team for giving us a memory of...
Read moreWhen we first started the planning process, the venue is obviously one of the first decisions that needs to be made- and it can be an overwhelming one! When we were narrowing it down, we knew we wanted one that had a beautiful outside and inside option for the ceremony, as well as a reception space on the property. When we toured Canyonwood Ridge, we were impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the upkeep of the venue. You can tell they take pride in keeping their grounds pristine. When we left our tour, we knew it was our venue!
We ultimately decided to do our ceremony in the chapel and the cocktail hour on the back patio and lawn. Although we got married in mid-June, the back patio was very shaded and didn't get too hot for guests. We had a 5:30pm ceremony time which allowed the sun to come through the windows at just the right moment. It was stunning and many guests commented on the sunshine after the ceremony. The large windows also allowed for beautiful pictures, which is where we took our family portraits afterwards and my bridal party pictures beforehand. These are some of favorite pictures in our photo gallery!
There are so many photo locations outside as well. We took most of our wedding party pictures on the back lawn, and the greenery mixed with the trees was a beautiful backdrop. My husband and I decided to do quick sunset portraits as well, and Canyonwood has a beautiful overlook spot for this exact reason. Having the hill country as your back drop was definitely one of the selling points for us and the pictures turned out beautiful!
During the day, my bridal party and I got ready in the very large bridal suite which was perfect! The venue manager, Alexa, checked in on us throughout the day and was so professional, warm, and accommodating. She was such a warm presence for us as the nerves started to build!
One of my favorite things about Canyonwood Ridge is that everything is all-inclusive. There are no hidden fees. The venue cost is allowing you to reserve the entire property for the day, which was so nice and not something that can be said for other venues we looked at. Their in-house bar company also did a great job and had wonderful staff! We were very particular with our margarita recipe we wanted served, and they followed everything to a T. We are so glad we got married at Canyonwood Ridge and can't...
