Charro Ranch Park is a lovely, rustic park, and seems to be continually improving. Recently, a covered pavilion was added. The bird blind is great, and there are trails throughout, with an interesting sundial showing the sun's path at the equinox and both solstices, a peace sign monument at the heart of a labyrinth, and oodles of native plants. Several tree species are labeled. Know that there is no running water--there's a well-maintained porta-potty in the parking lot, but you'll need to bring your own drinking water. The trails are rugged and wouldn't be stroller friendly. This is a nice place for a family hike or trail run. Nice mix of...

The park is nicely natural. There is a sign as you enter reminding people to wear masks and leash their dogs...we kept running in to people without masks and twice dogs without leashes. One of the unleashed dogs charged our dog, who was on a leash by the way. I just wish people would respect others enough to follow simple rules so that everyone can have fun. It is a beautiful nature, public park, not your back yard. Please wear a mask, please...

Great place for a nice easy walk! Dogs will love it. My toddler had a blast trails are well kept however watch out if your toddler is a speedster that wanders! There is a decent amount of cactus off the trail. Lots of things for the Littles to explore and decent amount of shade in some parts of the park. There are benches and places to dispose of trash and a Porta potty at the front for if you REALLY need to go. Dogs are supposed to be...

Great park for a leisure hike with a 9 month old. Wasn't too short it was just the right distance to tire little man right into a nap :) highly recommend if you have a little one with a stroller and do not want to commit multiple hours to a hike. All in all it took us about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. Could have taken longer if we wanted but we chose to end it short.

Fields of Indian Blanket, beebalm and prairie bloomweed among the oaks and junipers make for a welcome respite in this nicely maintained 60-acre park near Driftwood. Ideal for birdwatching, strolling or cross-country running along the 1.5-mile outer trail. You can tell the city and volunteers take pride in caring for this small Hill Country gem.

This was a very neat park to explore! There is a bird viewing pavilion with a book containing information on all the wildlife you could see. Unfortunately we didn't see any roadrunner but some beautiful pairs of Cardinals, other birds and some deer. Bring water and enjoy the hike !!!
