Decided to keep exploring this beautiful place on the weekend. ✨ 📍Susquehannock State Park #visitpa #explorepa #pennsylvania #susquehannockstatepark #susquehannariver

Such a beautiful and peaceful location. Great overlook to view the Susquehanna River and catch glimpses of various birds of prey. Appreciated the park ranger being there giving information and answering questions along with providing binoculars for viewing. This was a quick stop for us to have a picnic lunch but interested in returning to take in some of the trails. Lotta parking available along with restrooms and multiple picnic tables scattered throughout the area. Great spot for families to enjoy the outdoors, playground for kids and pet friendly. Light amount of visitors but steady. There is a short walk from lower parking lot to lookout area that could be challenging for elderly and disabled as shown in picture. Camping and pavilion reservations are also available. Free entry.

I have a PA state parks and forests passport book, so have been trying to visit all the state parks to fill it up. And in that context want to say that I really like this state park. I just took the dogs back for an afternoon walk on several of the trails and Susquehannok never fails to disappoint. It has a peaceful, quiet vibe with well marked and accessible trails. The old historical house as well as overlook always make for nice pics, especially if you go during late afternoon toward sunset. The pooches loved it and I was surprised by the number of early winter mushrooms. Also noticed some hackberry trees for the first time. It's a nice out of the way park for quiet couple hours, picnic, or contemplative walks.

Amazing overlook that is very easy to get too and they have handi cap parking, picnic areas everywhere, beautiful trails that are easy enough for my now 3 year old son to hike and a great place to go hiking as a family, a nice little park there also, 2 bathrooms one near the entrance and one at the parking area for the over look, they also have 3 parking areas which is nice because you can park and explore then drive and see more further down if you have kids it makes it easier some days lol we have 3 boys so its super nice to have a place like this to go to. There is a wonderful mix of plenty of shade and some nice open sunny spots. There is a baseball field and multiple playing fields. The whole park is very well kept and tidy which is very nice for us who really appreciate nature as is. The over look view is of the susquehannah river and you can view open hills forests the river and its just so beautiful great place for picture taking of nature! Its easy to find and its close to Holtwood Damn and The Buck Motorsports and the Collinsville Drive In depending on what direction youre coming from which are also great places to check out if youre in the area, the Buck is on Saturdays in the evening, the Drive In is open daily, and right across Holtwood is the Locks which are a great historical stop located on both sides of the road. So many great places to stop and check out around the area. Definately suggest visiting...
