Great little hidden neighborhood gem!
Waterpark needs some updating. The lava rocks by the picnic table make no sense as we have to step on them with bare feet to get to and from. There are other tables. Seating is limited. The structures could use some repainting but overall the place seems clean.
The slides look rough, we skipped them and had a blast still. Water is shallow enough for my elementary aged kids to safely swim and not have to worry. The floating log is fun, but again, has rips and chunks out and needs an upgrade.
Waterpark is $10 with slides, $8 without. For two kids 1 adult I paid $24. CASH ONLY BE PREPARED!!!!
There are bathrooms and changing rooms inside the water park area and a very spacious playground outside with more bathrooms, picnic tables, and a nice playground. So much space to run around, play soccer, volleyball, etc. great spot for family photos as well with all the trees!!
The walk from the parking lot to the playground and waterpark is not long like everyone says. A 2 min walk maybe. Bring a wagon for the playground but you gotta carry your things for the waterpark (no wagons)
It’s a spacious park so yes there is walking involved but the paths are all paved (besides parking lot itself)
Lifeguards on duty are young teens, they do not do the head bop that lifeguards are required to do to keep track of people swimming, leading me to believe they aren’t actually lifeguards and just staff members to keep an eye on things. Be ware of this before letting your child swim without careful supervision.
Overall we would...
Read moreWe have been to the General Squier waterpark several times now, it’s not much, but still enough for the kids to cool off and have a good time, but it’s definitely not worth the price you pay to get in to be honest ….HOWEVER, today was just HORRIBLE. It was honestly quite shocking…It all started with my one-year-old playing with a beach ball I brought to keep him occupied. They wouldn’t let him have a beach ball in the water at all. They told me to take him over to the grassy areas behind the picnic tables, then later on a man came over and told my kids they’re not allowed to have a ball at all within the gated area.!. Just wait I’m not done!!! THEN it turned into no outside food and asked us to remove our lunches from the gated in area… this is NEW! Beware if you’re trying to spend a chill day here and have a picnic lunch with your kids…EVERYTHING has changed, plus it just feels so nice to be watched like a hawk from management like you’re a criminal. It’s simply all about money now. You may only buy concessions from them to bring in to the water park area. They’ve lost my business. For a “waterpark,” in tiny country town of Dryden, with all the new RIDICULOUS rules that sound made up on fly too…they sure are gambling their business!!! Whoever that man is too, going around with a stick up his butt, seems like he’s on a power trip and just stares at people and looks for a problem the whole time! If you’re looking you’ll sure find them, Sir. & Here’s your next one! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR FAMILIES WITH...
Read moreTried to visit yesterday with my grandsons. Arrived at 10:45 and was told that they opened at 11 so we waited. Just before 11, a young lady came out and said that opening would be delayed due to no life guards having arrived but that they usually got there within minutes of opening time. So we waited. A few minutes after 11 a life gaurd arrived and exitment grew for grandsons and the other people in line, and we waited. More time went by and again the young lady came out and stated that one life guard was not enough to allow them to open her the county rules. At minimum 2 life gaurds needed to be present and then they would only allow pool use but not the slide. Three life gaurds needed to be present for use if the slide; so we waited. After a brief time more a pleasant young man emerged and told the small group that had formed that the water park was closed for the day on account of no life gaurds being available; so we left. My grandsons were disappointed and so as not to make their experience a complete waste of time I took the opportunity to talk to them about the inefficiency and waste inherent in government and the value of planning ahead for all contingencies. I managed to refrain from uttering any...
