Here in Duarte off Historic route 66 North on Encanto parkway is a pleasant park called Encanto Park nearby fish canyon.. a park that many come to visit on the weekends for birthday parties and family gatherings.. there's a playground , swings and slides for the kids and lots of sports activities especially on the weekends such as baseball,, soccer, tennis,, basketball and volleyball.. Many senior citizens that live nearby often come here to walk their dogs or just to get some cardio alongside the gravel walking trail that runs along the backside of the park with areas to rest .. parking lot gets packed early on the weekends due to so many cyclist that park here like myself to begin rides going south all the way to the beach or north up to Crystal lake cafe.. alongside Encanto Park is the the San Gabriel River as well as the entrance to the San Gabriel River bike path.. park is very peaceful and friendly atmosphere with well...

From the vantage point of the entrance, it is situated at the foothill of some stunning mountains, like straight from the cover of a travel magazine. In the middle is an open plain, surrounded by trees. On the left side, a habitat-like pond and stream, whereas on the other side, there are sitting areas and overhead cover. One could always find a suitable space to play sports, practice yoga, meditate, read a book, or engage in whatever suits the body and mind. This location evokes a certain nostalgic and natural feel, as opposed to some others that are more artificial or man-made. It appears that the neighbors and local administration have invested care and resources to nurture and maintain this gem away from the crowd, which is a privilege for visitors to immerse themselves in or reminisce about those who have tread on the same...
Read moreThe park is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the area as it is close to a residential area and across from the San Gabriel River bike path. The park has a walking path that wraps all around; It's at least .25 miles all the way around. Young oak, olive and cherry trees line the path along with plenty of natural shrubbery which makes it seem as if one is walking up in the hills. The park also boasts plenty of mature oak and pine trees all around the grassy area.
Plenty of solo and paired walkers and moms with their strollers are among the regulars there. Leashed dogs are also allowed there which is a plus.
