Royal Oaks Park — Attraction in Duarte

This park has a lot of potential to be amazing.

The good: nice medium size park, pretty, very clean, nice bathrooms for a park, not too many people midday or in the morning.

The bad: can be very difficult to find parking. By far the worst part of this park, though, is that to keep it so clean, there are at least 2-3 parks dept guys working in the park at all times. Very loud ride mowers and leaf blowers. They will do their job whether you're there or not. I have had cut grass, dust, pollen, dander, blown in my face as the leaf blower guy walks by 3 feet from me multiple times. The mower guys have almost run over my stuff many times. I sit in different parts of the park and come at different times to read, and they are always working.

So it's a toss up. Beautiful, not crowded park, but if you have allergies or noise sensitivities you might have a bad time. When I come for maybe an hour, I just move around...

Gorgeous Nature atmosphere. Surrounded by houses so its a great place to have fun with the family. Childrens play area, park benches, basketball, tennis courts, and small walking trails for seniors.Limeted bbq areas. Lots of grassy areas. Clean park. Make sure your car is registered and drive a safe speed. The sheriff and local police patrol and frequent the park regularly for safety. They will cite you so follow all the rules!! Residents have a neighborhood park watch and have no problems calling the police for disturbances, excessive alcohol or marijuana smoking. This is park for family, children, and...

Review of playground area.

Pros: Two sections. 2-5, twisty slide + double short slide. A little shade. Two toddler swings. 5-12 area has 3 impressive slides. Very tall spiral, two wavy ones. Variety of climbing ladders. Two swings.

Platform areas have tall ceilings. Lots of clearance for adults to join comfortably

Cons: Sand base with some sponge. Slide can be hot in the direct son.
