The Pointe Golf Club — Attraction in Duck

This course is in incredible condition. Plays well and putts true. With that said, they have a sign at the turn that's states to limit your lunch to 5 minutes. We went to the bar and sat down and had lunch with our foursome. We were in there for about 45 minutes. We came out, teed up on the 10th hole and the starter came over and said we can't do that but he would find us a hole somewhere on the back 9. So, we started our back 9 on the 14th hole. This inevitably caused an even bigger back up. It took us 3 hours and 5 minutes to play The Back Nine. Had we stayed where we were on the 10th hole everything would have been fine. I completely understand having the five-minute rule for lunch but this is totally ridiculous. We got penalized for spending $100 at the golf course for our group for lunch. While the starter was very nice to us, I just think he lacks what it takes to run the golf course. Basically, do not go into the clubhouse to eat at the turn, you will be penalized for it. Had we been able to start back up on the 10th hole, I would have easily given this...

The Pointe makes it so easy and pleasant to grab 9 holes, 18 holes, a lesson or just a practice session. On the OBX the Pointe is generally recognized as having best practice facility. My wife and I play 70+ rounds a year at the Pointe. I also utilize the practice facility 100 times a yr for 1-3 hrs a session.

The main putting green is always in excellent condition. There are two chipping/pitching areas, with sand. The full driving range sharpens wedges, irons, hybrids and woods.

The 18 hole 6300 yd Par 71 course can be played by everyone. There's room to 'swing away' without being penalized for being a little off line. However your approaches need to be sharp and accurate if you don't want to add extra strokes. The greens are the same as the practice green...smooth and true.

I recently played your course in mid-June 2014 with my son. We were very impressed how friendly and nice the staff was while we played the course (we were treated better than most country club members are at their clubs). We really enjoyed the course - clean, well-kept, and we even had our best golf scores ever, just because of your staff and top course conditions !
