Best dog park in Duluth... but the bar is very low. It's not large, but larger than the others. Takes about 5 minutes to walk the circumference. Because it has a hill, people often lose sight of their dogs - meaning there is a larger amount of dog poop than you'll find at other parks. They don't maintain the grass - which is nice in some aspects, but it also makes cleaning up dog poop really difficult when you're trying to scoop it out of foot long grass. It's also virtually guaranteeing ticks. The same people go every day and spend hours there. Nice if you're friends, but not so nice if you want to avoid their dogs for whatever reason. LOTS AND LOTS OF MUD in the large dog area. Your dog WILL get muddy and it's very difficult to navigate in the spring.
I don't know why Duluth - with so many creeks, ponds, lakes, couldn't carve out a nice walkable dog park with a water feature beyond two large mud puddles. Like maybe we don't have the land for a Minnehaha Creek-level dog park, but a city this size should be able to do...

First time off leash outside and he absolutely loved it. Still a puppy at 15 lbs, he ran right up to the fence where the bigger dogs are.
Tail a waggin & through the fence kisses and then they began to run alongside one another separated by the fence.🐕🦺
Henry was in heaven and getting the great exercise he’s been lacking.🦮
My sister, Tina and I were just thrilled and will take her Nougat the next time we go, her 10 pound 11 year old poodle.🐩
The miracle of miracles happened when he peed and pooed for the first time outdoors. Yeah!!!🍀
Worn out, he’s now sleeping at home!
Thanks to Duluth City Parks for providing such a terrific spot.👍
Thank you also for the adult port a potty!😘
Now we need an indoor dog park for super cold weather. 😍

Read moreLots of space to run, and always nice dogs and people. There's a small dog section and a big dog section, and there's even tunnels and some platforms for dogs who are into agility, and benches for people to sit. The only downside is there isn't much shade, but they're working on that - plenty of trees planted! Also, there's no running water, so while there is usually water for the dogs, it's because people bring it and fill up the bowls. It's always nice to bring some to contribute. Along the same lines, there is an outhouse available, but I haven't used it so I don't know what state it's kept. Overall, it's a great place for dogs (and their friends) to go and run...
