Siltcoos Lake is a large lake in the Dune City Area of Oregon. It is advantageous to fish from a boat here, due to all the private homes that line the lake.
Average depth of this lake is 6-12 feet deep, so quite shallow. We noticed lake grass was quite profuse in August, when we visited, making it difficult to troll lures without them getting fouled up by the grass.
We did manage to catch several 2-3 lb. Catfish on nightcrawlers here and lots of perch. I saw an Osprey dive into the water here for a fish. Fish was lucky and escaped. The Osprey rose out of the water empty-taloned, and shook the water from its feathers as it flew off.
