Spent the weekend hiking and camping. Started at the savage gulf entrance, we day hiked the the north rim trail, to mountain oak, to north plateau. Total about 10.5miles and camped at savage gulf campground. Then Saturday hiked the south rim, to connector trail to Hobbs cabin. Total about 13.5miles. Mile markers for this hike were a little off. The last 2.5 miles of the connector trail is Boulder field. Lots of places to stop for water if you have a filter. Campsites were spread out and comfortable. Highly recommend hiking here and camping. Lots of trails to connect and make your own loops. Great views along the north and south rim trails. Also very important, there are timber rattlesnakes here, so keep your eyes...

Definitely a must-see!! There is good parking and handicap accessible. Restrooms are available with paved walkways. The first part of the trail is well paced and easily walking to the overlook. As the trail continues it is lightly rolling to flat, so tennis shoes are good footwear. As the trail ends at the end there is a flat outcropping of rock mountaintop that offers a panoramic view of the valley for miles. Or, hike down The Great Stone Door, and rock stairway leading between massive rocks that split apart and will lower you into the forest canopy. Allow about 45 minutes each way in and out. Enjoy nature and this Tennessee jewel with your...

This was our first time going there from Chattanooga. It was about 45 minutes away. We got there and easily found parking. There were bathrooms at the top and then a beautiful path to the over look. Then it continued down to a swinging bridge and to the water. The water was cool and a bit murky. I snorkeled around the base of the waterfall but the water was too dark to see much past 2 feet deep. I think it is a good place to go and visit in...
