Lovely park office. Your hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and swimming activities start here. Helpful staff. If you don't have built in navigation, recommend that buy a map here for $5 fee. You can get lost if you are new to hiking. Have fun! I am adding more.. BE REALLY AWARE OF BLACK BEARS...I've seen a bear clows cuddled like a cat front of her chest and glaring two eyes when I wondered into the big tree trunks. I was breathless between utterly stanned with joy and fear; was frozen 2 second. I knew what I saw and moved away. I tried to gether my energy to go back to take a pic of her. I didn't what if she comes out, then, there is no turning, and I was not seen the sign about what to do, either. So, please leave the nature to itself. Knows...

Hey it's a Georgia State Park it's great the staffs great what else would you expect.

Staff was great that quickly got me set up with a friend's pass and the keys to our cabin and made sure the discounts offered with the pass were applied.

The cabin was right on the ridge top with great views to the South. The cabin is one of the CCC cabins so it's what 75-100 years old but the park service has done a marvelous job balancing the historic qualities of the building with modern convenience. Comes with fridge, range, microwave.

Bathroom was clean and looked like it'd just been remodeled. Bedroom was a bit dark with a queen bed.

Lots of trails with...

The staff was very helpful and the park is popular with hikers. The park itself is large and some planning would be a good idea. We took the short end of the blue blaze trail which is a little more than a 4 mile hike from the parking lot to cascade falls. Parts of the trail can be challenging to seniors and the very young. This part of the hike will require crossing the creek more than once on nothing but stepping stones and parts of the inclines and declines are fairly steep. I would recommend packing water or something...

It has been just over 20 years since we last parked here and rucked around these fatastic trails, but I stumbled upon an old photo and had to show some love for a great place and better people. This was always our "base camp" for our strolls along the trail set here. The Rangers here have your back and know their craft. Highly recommended for a day hike. Advice... take more photos than we did.

Park office was on a main Rd, not "in" the park. But I found out the park is a lot bigger than I thought! Office was chock full of gift store ish stuff!! Pine mountain trail PMT was there as well so lots of info on that. The PMT is on a ridge for a bit, that was cool . Lots of CCC. Structure s in the area. Lots of FDR history as well. Lots to see here, give it a couple days.
