Iāll be honest, I was initially going to rate my experience 3 stars. But the delivery team saved this review. But Iāll get to DāAndre and Ronnell, who are amazing and went above and beyond in a moment. First, I had a good experience buying a couch. The staff are friendly without being pushy. The store is clean and beautiful. The furniture is of excellent quality. So I bought a fantastic couch and paid for delivery. I was even told the couch was in stock which implied I would have it in my apartment soon. They never explicitly said that though. I asked if it might be delivered in the coming week and our saleswoman said she believed that could happen. I paid in full and left. Then I didnāt hear anything for a week. So I had to call on a Friday, the same saleswoman answered and I asked her when Iām going to get my couch that was paid for and in stock. She tells me that delivery āhas been busyā but Iāll definitely get called Tuesday to schedule a delivery for Wednesday. That does not happen. No one calls Tuesday or Wednesday. In fact, to that point, any updates Iāve been given were when I had to call them and they would pretend to be surprised they had not been in contact. So Thursday (about 11 days since buying the couch) I call again and a different saleswoman answers she says the same thing that theyāve been busy since a large sale on Fourth of July and thatās why no one has called to schedule me. I think thatās not an acceptable excuse because the average amount of couches they deliver in a day isnāt a surprise, simple math and a calendar could tell you how far I am down the list and that could tell when my delivery might be. Anyway I spoke to Tiffany when I was upset about how Capital Discount Furniture had treated me and she calmed me down. She told me they would call me tomorrow (Friday) for delivery on Saturday and I told her Iām not confident they will, she reassured me that they would and sent me a text to confirm it. She was excellent. They did call. They scheduled delivery for the next day which is exactly 2 weeks from the day I bought the couch at this point. It was extra frustrating to have so little communication because I was still getting ads via text for Capital Discount Furniture services so I know they have my number. Anyway, I was still frustrated about my experience with Capital Discount Furniture until Dāandre and Ronnell showed up with my couch today. What efficient, innovative, quick thinking, great attitude gentleman. Getting the couch in my apartment was way more difficult than I had planned and the delivery team never flinched. Never a doubt, a bad attitude, or shy away from great showing of strength from them. Seriously I canāt say enough positive things about my two delivery men. They really saved this review. My wife and I had been using the same dining furniture for over 20 years, and it was definitely time for an upgrade. Initially, we decided to try ordering online through Wayfair, which turned out to be a huge mistake.
With Wayfair we placed our order a month before Thanksgiving, trusting their promise of a one-week delivery. However, week after week, the Wayfair delivery kept getting delayed, and when it finally arrivedājust days before Thanksgivingāthe table was cracked, and the chairs were mismatched. We were devastated and knew we had to act fast to find a replacement.
We began searching local stores, hoping to find something quickly, especially since we live in North Carolina, the furniture capital of the world. However, store after store, we had no luck. Thatās when I remembered Capital Discount Furniture. I suggested we check it out, and Iām so glad we did.

Within seconds, we found the perfect table. Not only was it of higher quality than the one we had ordered from Wayfair, but it was also more affordable!
Two weeks later, our beautiful new table was delivered, and it has exceeded all our expectations. Capital Discount Furniture has earned our trust and business for life. As a prospective customer we got good service, but the minute we made our purchase, all that changed. We received our sofa with a tear on the dust cover, and assembly screws stuck together. That made assembling impossible.
When I called back for help, Ashley advised us to assemble using less screws. This could have damaged our furniture forever. Also another associate told us ācustomers assume a certain risk when they buy from usā when I asked them if theyād replace my faulty furniture like they promised while buying. The overall tone wasnāt helpful or friendly at all.
We were going to buy a dining set and a bedroom set, but after this kind of service, decided not to. Iād advice visiting high point instead of buying from here. Not worth it.
Update to 3 stars: after seeing the 1 star review, Scott reached out and finally understood what the frustration with the whole process was (i.e unfriendly tone of the customer reps) and also sent a piece of dust cover by mail. I just wish they cared about the customers as much as they do about their reviews, and this would have been an easy 5 star. In any case, thanks for getting in touch and rectifying...
