So, I love sunflowers and usually drag my kid to Eastern WA for pics each year...but this year, staying close. I was so excited to find out about sunflower options up north. I was a little worried about trying Lora Lees because they were a longer drive for us and had very few pictures posted of their fields, but my kid was excited to try out the maze, so there we went. OMG. I have never taken so many beautiful unfiltered photos in under an hour in my life. The maze was genius! My child was gleefully discovering dead ends, scare crows, grandparents, and Christmas trees, so I got way more natural happy photos, and the bonus cool thing about a twisty sunflower maze is that the amount of times the flowers are pointing in the direction of the path/your kid is actually incredible. We loved every minute of it! (sorry for obscure kid pics, but want to allow her photo autonomy--but yellow shirt for the win!) Lora Lee and her husband were super nice, we got a beautiful huge sunflower stem, a delicious shaved ice my kid miraculously did not spill on her shirt, chatted with their adorable goats, and are excited to come back next year when they say they will have two maze fields! Also, the honey bees were very busy pollinating, and while there were lots of them, and we were mindful of the few flowers that fell into the path, they did not...
Read moreWe had visited Lora Lee’s A-maze-ing Sunflowers last week to see the first maze. But we were late and the flowers were wilted already. Lora had informed about that and still we wanted to go to see the amazing flowers. We couldn’t even understand that the flowers were wilted. They were too beautiful. As Lora gave us free passes for seeing the second maze which was ready this week, we visited again this evening.
The maze was more than amazing. Both our eyes and soul were happy seeing the flowers. My husband, my baby and friends spent so much time and we didn’t feel like coming back from the place.
He/She who plants a garden plants happiness.
My 9 month baby saw goats for the first time and he said ‘goat’ and recognizes their sound. 😍
Thank you so much Lora. Hoping to see the maze again next year.
Anyone who loves seeing sunflowers, they are open until next Monday. 09/19. $15 for adults. I promise it’s worth it. Photos couldn’t capture the real beauty I say. Still here goes a few photos and...
Read moreWe contacted Lora Lee's Family Farm in May to see if we could pay a flat rate to u-pick bulk flowers for my wedding in September, and Lora responded quickly to let us know that would be great, but we had no idea how great it would actually wind up being! The day before my wedding I brought myself and my family to the farm, and we picked our own flowers together. It was the PERFECT way to connect and re-set before the big day, and we got such a good deal on the flowers! Lora even made us all coffees at her coffee stand after we sorted through the flowers! We took them to the venue that evening to make the floral arrangements, and the flowers lasted beautifully overnight in their vases. We used them on our huppah, across the venue for decor, as centerpieces and on refreshment tables, and everything turned out so beautifully. I cannot recommend her beautiful farm enough. Thanks for being an unexpected highlight to our wedding...
