My dog woke me up around midnight to use the bathroom. While outside I was saw 3 people walking my direction so I went up into the picnic area. 2 of them broke off on one side and 1 came from the other side of the picnic area and basically pinned me in the middle. 2 of them then started telling me how I wasn't allowed to have my dog in the picnic area while the 3rd stood like a yard away and watched. It's 12:30am they should have been glad I didn't have my taser because that was inappropriate to do to a single woman truck driver in the middle of the night. I felt very unsafe. Maybe next time they should be more worried about the how they may be perceived at 12:30am instead of where I'm walking my dog.
Post note: I walked my dog again before leaving, 2 of the 3 people from the earlier event were still on the premises. They literally stared at me while I walked my dog. I guess I was in the correct section this time. But I do consider this harassment. If I'm ever here again and I am harassed by the same wanna be cop security lady and her little friend I will be calling the cops and pressing charges for harassment since there is no signage anywhere about dogs not being aloud in certain areas. They're literally making up their own rules because they don't have anything better to do then...
Read moreThis place looks nice. There was literally nobody there. After driving for 16 hours we stopped to feed our dogs at the very last table. We have special needs dogs and so it takes time to prepare their food and we have been stopping at test areas all the way from the west coast til here. The security guard made a point to walk all the way across the area to tell us our dogs are not allowed there at this rest stop and we could take them across the highway to some place that has zero shade and no tables to prepare their food. The worst welcome ever.
We came to Tennessee to view property to potentially move here. But seeing as the state obviously has a huge issue with irresponsible dog owners, I think we'll leave this lousy state to its lousy citizens who don't know how to train their animals or pick up after them. Or you know... don't view dogs as important members...
Read moreLooks like a nice place, too bad I will never know. I backed my truck into a parking spot as far away from anyone as I could and tied the dog to the hitch with the intention of eating my lunch on the tailgate, then the guard tells me I have to put my dog in the truck and turn the truck around before I can go inside to use the restroom, “state law.” Really? The only sign there says “dogs must be on leash.” Nowhere is it posted you can’t back into a spot, or have your (very sweet and friendly) dog tied to the tailgate on a short leash rather than sitting in the hot truck while you run inside to the bathroom. Figures a state-run facility can’t even run a...
