Note: this review is for the volleyball court only.

I played volleyball with a group after work recently. There are a few issues which the Eagan community or parks department should look into. First, and by far the most important, is that the court is surrounded on two sides (behind and on one side) by woods/brush. The problem with this is that someone came through with a brush clearing machine and left behind a number of incredibly sharp and dangerous branches pointing out of the ground that are between 12 and 18 inches tall. Since these areas are right by the court, it was incredibly frequent that someone would hit the ball into the brush and risk stepping on one of these dangerous/painful spikes.

Second, the sand itself was in moderately bad shape. There was a good amount of debris in and around the sand court that needs to be cleaned up.

I would not suggest this as a place to play volleyball outdoors until these issues (particularly the first one) are fixed. There are better, and far less dangerous, places to play...

It is the best I can get to going back to my elementary school, Thomas Lake, which I totally recommend you to go to! Although, they do have to much students, so they don't really keep all of their promises. They are still nice, though! And there are garter snakes! I once saw a baby garter snake there! There are also turtles! I helped save a stuck turtle get free from the weeds and got him back into the water where he was trying to go anyways! How's that for being scared of everything! I had to wear thick gloves to protect my hands, though. I miss going there. The playground is really nice! The best place to go to in the park is the wild park! It is a playground right next to Thomas Lake, and it has a tennis court right next to it. I recommend you to go to Thomas Lake Park ASAP! You...

This park is great for a simple walk. The trails are wide and smooth, making it easy and safe to walk around. It's also really clean, hardly any trash lying around. The lake is beautiful, although the dock was a bit shaky – maybe it was just the wind. But don't worry about getting lost; it's easy to find your way around.

And the best part? I got to see a deer 🦌 up close! Overall, it's a nice spot for a relaxed outdoor stroll. The paths are clear, the scenery is nice, and you might even spot some wildlife. Definitely worth checking out if you're...

Beautiful, peaceful stroll along Thomas Lake. I cannot wait to return this summer when the trees are fully developed and green once again. I saw several dogs on this well paved path. I also saw one bird watcher and a cyclist. The Canadian geese were plentiful but tread lightly around them they tend to be territorial. I viewed a boat launch and will be taking my kayak to this gorgeous lake.

This rating is only for fishing. The park is not bad at all but we didn't explore it beyond the fish pier which was crowded by 5pm. The lake was shallow and significantly covered by algae. Fishing report was promising but we got only small bluegills aggressively chasing lures under the pier/floaties. Giant snapping turtles lurking so one would need to watch out constantly.
