Shaw's Bridge Park — Attraction in East Bradford Township

Excellent, well maintained, small, off leash park with figure 8 walking trail, canoe water access and picnic areas. One of the few true off leash dog parks remaining. Dog owners and walkers are generally much more relaxed than typical leashed parks as generally dogs trusted off leash tend to need less correction and have experienced owners. Bags for clean up and trash cans are well placed and visitors are excellent about cleaning up after their dogs. Parking lot is CROWDED on nice summer days - during summer expect to compete for parking with cycling groups, teenagers after school, dog walking groups, picnicers, and canoe loading (also one of the few places to park and put in legally although a bit of a hike from parking lot) The park is well kept, the grounds crew is friendly, bathroom is clean. If you walk a dog prone to eating off the ground avoid after summer holidays - the picnicers have a habit of leaving food, fire pits and trash in the high grass and off the path. Although the crew is fast to clean up there are always a few scraps the dogs find. Walking loop is flat and not long. A group of 10 to 12 church members where seating by the river waiting for the pastor who it’s battling cancer who has been praying to GOD to give him the strength to be able to bamptize his first granddaughter , myself as a former Marine with 30 staples in my stomach who ended up with a medical discharge , had to deal with this rasist lady with a bad attitude who claim to work for the STATE PARK who was going around telling all the Hispanic people who where there with their kid and family, people who were not part of the church behaving in a peaceful manner that they had to leave by 1:00pm if not she was going call the cops, trying to intimidate the Hispanic people as if we were immigrants when we happen to be Americans who my grandfather fought in the North Korea war who I have family members who are cops myself who work as a EMT for many years serving our country (Sunday august 12, 2018 around 11:00 am, maybe the STATE PARK office could find out who she was and teach her some manners especially towards a minister of GOD).stop all this unesary confrontation toward other human beings just because of the color of their skin or mist conception...

A great park to do just about anything. Its on the Brandywine Creek. If you live in this area I hope your taking advantage of this spot. Its more of a neighborhood spot. I wouldnt drive a lengthy distance to only come to this park unless maybe you don't have another spot for your water craft. You can bring your own non motor watercraft and follow the water way. Its a beautiful creek. The hiking trail is an easy trail good for any age. Next mixture of trees. Quiet and very peaceful. Parking was ample. A NICE park to pick to go exploring in to enjoy for a couple of hours to be at peace with yourself and mother nature. I heard a few drones. It was a great spot to fly them.
