Ballek's Garden Center — Attraction in East Haddam

Got this key lime tree from them. We were in the area for our Getaway trip. Knowing my plant addiction, my husband did some research and found this place. We were so glad we stopped by. We have been to quite many nurseries but this one is truly special. First of all, you can tell that all the plants here are taken care of with love. Second of all, the people here are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I've learned so many things about citrus after the conversation with them. I saw on their brochure that they have classes and tours. Definitely coming...

What a treasure! So many beautiful, healthy houseplants to choose from. Everything from $4 prayer plants to large citrus trees. There is something to love and take home for every horticultural skill set. The folks at the desk are happy to field your questions and give advice on how to help your new plants thrive at home. The vibe is very relaxed, and I felt comfortable roaming for the greater part of an hour. I brought home a jasmine covered in buds ready to bloom for less than $20. Worth the trip from anywhere....

This is a gem of a nursery. First, it's a beautiful ride through Haddam and East Haddam. Secondly, the staff is very friendly and helpful. This is my go to place over big box store garden centers. We pay alittle more, but the quality and variety are worth it. Ballek's is my first stop at the annual Garden and Flower Show in Hartford because their displays are wonderful.
