If you book a camp or stop over.....bring your own toilet paper, theirs are only 3" wide and see thru. Restrooms are " somewhat" clean. Can not turn around inside the stalls, toilet seats are for infants, no paper towels to dry your hands with AND then use to open th e bathroom door after some one else DIDN'T wash their hands and opened the door. Noise? you ask, 18 wheelers coming into town using their "jake brake " all hours of the night, not to mention the motor cycle mental regards and their LOUD mufflers. Also there are NO muffler shops in East Jordan, as EVERY pick up has no less then 3 holes (self inflicted ) in their mufflers...IF they have one at all. Campers allowed to come in and set up tent camp at 11:30 at night, headlights shinning inside your camper, pounding stakes. Basswood trees covering your table, your camper, your food, your car, truck, your gear, thousands of tiny husks in EVERYTHING. No restaurants , only fast food and pizza. One place open for breakfast but closes at 2pm. If you don't have your own bathroom and a shitload of food and don't mind cooking every...
Read moreOur experience camping here has been a joy. The camp ground is beautifully maintained with plenty of amenities for a family fun, dog friendly environment. They have a beautiful beach, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball field, and playground. It is very family friendly and everyone around during our stay was kind, respectful, and enjoying family fun. I strongly recommend camping here if you have little ones, or simply like camping, being up north, exploring surrounding areas and enjoying time at the campsite.
There are plenty of surrounding areas to explore, we enjoyed coffee at The Iron Goat coffee shop, and breakfast at The South Arm Cafe in East Jordan. If you prefer to make your own meals the campsites have full RV hookups, and great bonfire pits if you like to cook over the camp fire.
The bathrooms were clean and accessible. The sunset is beautiful from the beach, on a clear night the stars are amazing, overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. If we have the opportunity we will most definitely visit this...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. They helped us when we were in a tough spot! Aside from that, I have a few complaints about the campground itself; 1) the bathrooms are disgusting. Mud all over tnt floor, hair in the sinks, stalls without TP for several days. It's just gross! 2) we are in a pop up camper and the staff decided to place us on the roadside of the campground. It is LOUD! Please put one of the monster motor homes near the road. 3) there was a large group of campers together. They were screaming around the campground until after 4am. That is completely unacceptable in my eyes. With all of that being said, I would come back simply for the beach access. It's nice and sandy. The playground is nice, too. They just need to work on...
