Never had this problem with this park but recently my friends dog got attacked by a little dog in the 30lb + area. The little dog went for my friends dogs throat, legs, and face. The owner of that dog was not paying attention (on the other side of the park) and while my friends dog was protecting himself it took 3 of us to release them. As we were trying to leave we had people screaming at us to put our dog down like he started it. We had threats made about people wanting to kill our dog and I also got bit by the small dog. Someone also took pictures of my friend and I plus my licenses plate on my car and threats about getting the cops called on us. The little dog was also trying to get to another German sheppards throat.

People at this park do not listen to the rules as more little dogs showed up in the bigger dog section. My friends dog was a 9 month German sheppard mix and was still in training.

This wasn't the first attack at this park that was made from...

The only reason this is a prime location is because of the large enclosed areas. The person running York County Parks (Mike Fobes) is fully aware of physical threats made against people and their dogs, but yet refuses to correct the problems and adding to giving York County administration a poor name. I've seen people viciously abusive towards other people's dog(s) and the Park's rangers allow it, under Mr. Fobes directions. The Park's staff chooses what "posted" rules they want to enforce. The entire experience is a volatile situation just waiting to erupt. Northern breed dogs are NOT welcome here, as per Mike Fobes, even though proven aggressive breeds such as Pitbulls are more...

We go everyday to get our chunky corgis out of the house there are amazing people and pets! Some dogs get crazy but that’s the nature of taking your dog to a dog park! You’ll always have those people who get mad is a small dog is in the big dog side some people don’t realize some dogs may look small but weigh enough to be on the big dog side and some people have a big and a small dog, so they go in the big dog side! Also be warned there is a lady in the small dog side that carries pepper spray and if your dog plays with hers too much she will threaten you with it! “Her dogs got attacked and she can’t...

Great place for my dog to get interaction with other dogs. Most owners take it in stride when dogs have disagreements. It's connected to the Heritage Trail. It's definitely a lot more spacious & more used than the dog park between King & Princess streets in York (that too is connected to the rail trail). They have two sections. For 30 pounds up and down. Sometimes they have the sides switched. So, it helps to look before you waltz in. The park has amenities like restrooms and water fountains, but they're weatherized for the winter at the moment.

My pup George and I have been here a lot already and the parks are awesome!!! Lots of fenced in acerage for the dogs to run and play in. There is a park for large dogs and a park for small dogs. Both beautiful and clean (for the most part). The only thing I absolutely HATE is filthy pet owners that refuse to clean up the poop after their dog. So watch where you step. Some people just don't care about anyone but themselves. Otherwise it's a great place to bring your fur babies.
