Royal Manchester Golf Links — Attraction in East Manchester Township

This is without a doubt my favorite course in the area. Just played there a few days ago & the course was immaculate. Played earlier in the year & it was immaculate then also. Fairways are perfect, greens are fairly fast & roll beautifully. The only issue is caused by players not fixing pitch marks as is the same as most courses. For some reason, they started charging a cart fee of $8, so a weekend round will cost you $55. Considering the quality of the course, I can live with the price. Update..We played there today & the course was less than usual. Was really dry & the greens were like putting on carpet. They were aerated at least a month ago & still haven't totally filled in. They weren't really bumpy but crazy slow. I think I'll be waiting for a while to go back.

Another update..played there today & the course was back to its great condition. The only issue was as a 2some it took us 4 1/2 hours to play because of an incredibly slow 4some who never let us play through. Not the fault of the course but PLEASE 4SOMES, LET 2SOMES PLAY THROUGH! ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE INEXPERIENCED! IT'S CALLED COMMON COURTESY! Sorry for shouting but some people never get the message. Update..$36 is a lot...

Love all the comments on here about golf. Well, I don't play golf so........ As a local, just had my wife's 50th surprise birthday party here. Absolutely FANTASTIC !!!!! Jenna " sales and marketing event coordinator ", Debbie " event manager ", these 2 girls ROCK !!!! Having just about 50 people here for this event, Jenna and Debbie not only made it easy for me since the " surprise " part was hard enough for planing, but they make you feel right at home. Had folks attend this event from Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Maryland etc...... Everyone made comments not only about the service, but the food was absolutely spectacular. Room set up and arrangements, again, amazing. This would be my 2nd event at this place, 1st one was last year for a sweet 16 that a neighbor had. After this event, this is why I booked my wife's birthday. Great job Royal Manchester...

No starter or ranger to be found. Took nearly 3 hours to play 9 holes and at the turn there were 3 groups ahead of us on 10 tee. My group was not prepared for a 6 hour round and we asked the girl in the pro shop if there was anything she could do for us with a rain check for 9 holes. She said that it’s a hard golf course and Saturday morning and there was nothing she could do. Pretty disappointing and rude as our group are experienced golfers and a golf course being hard doesn’t mean you should let play be that slow. I play a lot of golf locally and I don’t think I can justify coming back to Royal Manchester. $85 for a 3 hour 9 holes and poor customer service while being patronized to think we were crazy for not wanting a 6 hour round of golf is where I draw the line.
