A review of my guide on April 4 To Whom It Absolutely Must Concern (Yes, I'm talking to you—the one lucky enough to work alongside him),
There are rare moments in life when the world stops spinning for just a second—and you feel it. A shift. A ripple. A moment that etches itself into the marrow of your bones. Tonight was one of those moments, and at the center of it stood a human I’ll never forget: Getiness.
Now listen—don’t ask me what that name means. I don’t know. I can’t explain it. I don’t want to. Because some things aren't meant to be explained. They’re meant to be felt. And tonight, I felt Getiness. His presence. His power. His kindness. His knowledge. His ability to ground a room while elevating every spirit in it—living and otherwise. It was like watching a conductor orchestrate both the whispers of the dead and the laughter of the living.
He wasn’t just a guide. He was the heartbeat of the night. The calm within the storm. The reason I didn’t bolt when the energy got too thick or the shadows danced a little too close. He held space in a way that felt ancient—like he'd done this before, in lives we don't remember, in dimensions we barely understand. And through it all, he led with kindness.
But not the performative kind. I’m talking real kindness—the kind that comes from deep empathy, deep listening, and a deep knowing that people are fragile and powerful at the same time. He saw every single one of us. Not as customers. Not as ghost chasers. As humans. As people navigating the unknown with our own stories, our own fears, and our own flickers of hope.
And he affirmed us. Quietly. Consistently. Without fanfare. The way only someone truly secure in their spirit can. I don’t even think he realizes what he does. That’s what makes him even more magical.
So let me say it clearly for the people in the back:
You need to keep this man. Protect this man. Uplift this man. Support this man. Celebrate this man. Learn from this man. And above all else—listen to this man. Because when Getiness speaks, something ancient listens back.
He brings joy where others bring fear. He brings clarity where others chase confusion. He turns a haunted experience into a healing one. That’s not a skill. That’s a gift. And if you're wise enough to keep him in your orbit, you’re not just getting a great employee. You’re getting a soul guide. A spiritual anchor. A walking embodiment of calm courage.
Getiness doesn’t just do his job—he transforms it. He turns a tour into a journey, a moment into a memory, a haunted corridor into a cathedral of stories. He elevates the people around him with every word, every gesture, every breath. There’s no ego. No script. Just pure, grounded authenticity.
And let me tell you something else:
I’ve walked into a lot of haunted places in my life. I’ve felt the shift. I’ve gotten the chills. But tonight, I left with more than just goosebumps. I left with hope. Hope that people like Getiness still exist. Hope that kindness can survive even in the darkest corners. Hope that this world—this strange, magical, chaotic world—still has guides who walk with purpose and lead with love.
Thank you, Getiness. For holding our fear. For honoring the spirits. For laughing with us. For teaching us without preaching. For protecting the vibe like a true warrior of light. For being the rarest kind of soul—the kind that makes you believe in more. Not just ghosts. Not just energy. But in people.
You are unforgettable. You are powerful. You are the kind of person people talk about for years. You are the reason someone like me leaves a haunted building feeling lighter than when I entered.
Whatever you're doing, however you're doing it—keep doing it. The ethos is better for it. We are better for it.
With endless appreciation, admiration,...
Read moreI wish we had googled more before spending what we did. How I warned my own followers for their sanity saved. “Was the worst event we’ve attended in close to five years together. We’ve done events during Covid for Gods sake 🤪, races, foodie events, concerts, festivals, loads of paranormal tours and weekend packages…. And this was such a poorly orchestrated waste of time and money. They lied…flat out lied…several times about several parts of the day…. They had event goers wait up to three hours for parking…we missed our ViP early entrance due to the disastrous parking situation …we sat in a parking line for over two hours. Over Two. A parking attendant flat out lied about the traffic pattern. They lied saying it was due to an accident. Then another lied about a direct entrance access they chose to close compared to the two hour shitshow we sat in. That car accident miles away had nothing to do with what we saw. It was the events incompetence. Then once parked we waited in a ticket scanning line for 35 minutes where we were told the vip lanyards never arrived. Nope. Lies. They didn’t order enough per the guy walking around trying to hand out a “new shipment” hours into the event. Then we weren’t allowed to just walk the “course” of buildings, entering the vendors easily…no. They forced you to the opposite end of the complex and through a specific building to funnel back out to the complex…why???…. Because it forced you to go through THEIR RETAIL SET UP…. Forced you through the sales of cheap Halloween type garbage mixed in with their tshirts and crap. We were over heated, missed our VIP early start due to their parking fiasco due to greed….After that, we right there, in a cattle line of sweating slow moving attendees being forced to shuffle through a retail set up…. we decided we weren’t spending another dime…this was before we hit the vendors (sorry vendors , take this to the purely greed driven design running this shit show)
Not a single person working the general event had information to share about the grounds, buildings… nothing. They pointed to a QR code that was a map. Not a single person working the event knew a thing about the event itself. We were given wrong information about the mixer/ meet and greet tickets we bought…were told incorrect locations for the mixer event. Only one young girl knew what she was talking about and seemed to care. One. Out of dozens.
Zero water in hand washing stations. Zero TP in porta potties…. Napkins were being piled up inside of. The picnic table tent area for those who chose to wait in the hour long line for food or water or beer didn’t come close to accommodating the over sale of the event. I’ve been to crowded pumpkin patches run better than this joke of a yearly event. And this event isn’t cheap…. I’d never ever suggest anyone serious about the paranormal ever waste a dime on this. The events we purchased were clearly marked as sold out. The event then opened those sold out tickets, “due to demand” increasing the sales the crowds the chaos. The intimate mixers were turned into anything but.
The ghost tours at night… maybe that’s worth it. The larger event at a “VIP” rate. Save your funds for an...
Read moreMy experience at Pennhurst Asylum Paracon 2025.
Summary: I would not return to the Pennhurst campus or their paracon again. Their management of the event deterred me from considering attending any large paracon going forward. The best parts about the Paracon was the regular people I networked with and the celebrities, nothing about Pennhurst itself. The Pennhurst Asylum corporation is only interested in taking money and not interested in their customers' experience. The name alone, "asylum", disrespects the history of the building and the souls who suffered there.
Information & Communication: Poor communication from the start. I was the ticket holder and Pennhurst had by email address, however any information came from Facebook, which I don't have and my husband had to keep me updated. From day 1, the wrong address was printed on the tickets and there was a woman posted at one of the access roads giving wrong directions to vehicles. There were no signs posted to get you through the city and towards Pennhurst. I was one of the first in line and staff was stringing up rope for the ticket booth lines. We were instructed to make 2 lines, however one of the lines were clearly blocked by a barrier. The individual employees were not well informed about anything. You could ask the same question to 3 staff members and receive 3 different answers. They were poorly informed about procedures. The ticket booth took my tickets to the overnight investigation and gave me a blue wrist band. Later, when I attempted to join the investigation, I was asked for my ticket. I had explained the ticket booth took it earlier and I produced the blue wrist band. The staff member did not believe me and asked for proof of my ticket.
Paranormal Investigation: Pennhurst must have sold hundreds of tickets to investigate overnight, because the entire campus was crawling with other people. It was impossible to investigate or not disrupt someone else's investigation. Also, large equipment, like a road roller, were being used outside during the investigation.
Events: Event times overlapped so, I lost 3 hours of the overnight investigation. Extra events were being added less than a month before the Paracon. The music during dinner was deafening and the sound equipment during the Q & A panels was poor.
Campus: The staff did not know which buildings were accessible. Random barriers were placed, impeding foot traffic flow. Defiantly not enough portable bathrooms were set up, and one accessible unit did not have a lock or hand sanitizer. The walking paths were ruddy and muddy and there was a very large puddle in the parking lot. Proper planning would have allowed the facility to fix the parking lot and walking paths before thousands of people had access to them.
Celebrities: The only thing that really saved this experience was getting to meet Ghost Hunters and...
