I have been coming to Lee Turkey Farm with my family from NYC since early 2000’s. Throughout the years, I have introduced many friends and family to this farm because they have an incredible variety of produce that keeps you coming back from Spring to Fall. They have a punch card that you have to purchase during your first visit of the season, and then they punch out a small discount for each listed produce you might come to pick. Your entry fee is applied to your purchase so you are incentivized to pick a good amount for each visit. Now, I am a mother with two little kids of my own and we make it a tradition to come fruit picking with the kids. I’ve even taught my 6 year old that this farm has THE BEST peaches and nectarines. I love it here. My family will not leave here without 2-3 giant bags of fruits and vegetables. My ONLY gripe that I’ve developed this year about Lee Turkey Farm is that there is ONE PARTICULAR WOMAN that has made each visit this year less enjoyable. I could not help but feel unwelcome when she approaches me and my family. I feel like a child being caught by an authority figure doing something wrong, when I actually have not. Unfortunately, I am relieved that I was not the ONLY person that felt attacked by this woman. I genuinely felt like there was a “look” about my family that made her feel like she needed to hover over us and “remind us” of the PYO rules amongst the produce. As I was entering the farm today (as soon as it opened), I already overheard three women walking out saying “Let’s just pay for these apples and get out of here. They’re not very welcoming here.” As we continued a few more steps going in the opposite direction of these women, I came across that same woman. The rest of the day, she drove past us multiple times making her rounds. Sometimes, she stopped to talk to patrons about the picnicking/snacking on produce policy. Other times, she turned her head the other way and kept driving. As the day progressed, I felt more and more frustrated at what I was witnessing. I am all for following rules and policies. But when these rules and policies only seem to apply to some patrons and not, I cannot help but feel like I’m being singled out. I still love Lee Turkey Farm and I still feel giddy from my haul from this visit, but I really hope that this feedback is taken to heart. It was not like this before, and today’s experience hearing other people sharing my sentiments compounded with my own experiences this summer have really made me reconsider my patronage here.

We went a little late in the day (330p, they are open from 2p until 6p), but everyone still really enjoyed it. We actually brought our own red wagon with a canopy (picture added) for the little ones to sit in. It makes a huge difference and a better experience for the adults and older kids if toddlers aren't complaining when they get tired. Other Tips: Spray sunscreen before going in. Bring water bottles & leave spare in the car for afterwards. Bring papertowels or baby wipes to wipe your hands. You should wear caps to protect from the sun. Some people like the bug spray, but we didn't experience too many mosquitoes, just fruit flies. Toilet seat covers for the porta potties, especially if you have kids. Lastly, i watched kids in play area while wife paid, then we went to the car; sho much better than having run around while trying to pay. We picked fruits, vegetables, unbelievable delicious, prices are reasonable and the deposit gets applied to total later on. We didn't really like the Turkey smell.

We had a lovely time here!! They have a large assortment of fruits and vegetables, so do make sure to explore every corner of the farm. I would check their website for more details, as me and my family did the same. The employees were very helpful, and made sure we knew the best path. For some of the fruits and vegetables a lot of them will be picked off from the front of the grove, so be sure to travel to the back to ensure you pick what you want. Their corn is especially tasty! Best of all, they allow you to taste test in the field. Just make sure not to eat too much, they are a family farm.

It was a beautiful day and was expecting to have a beautiful experience on the Jewish holiday...came with my wife and 5 small children...had to pay 10dollars per person which came out to 70$...alright not the worst part...we came there and paid for one big bag which is 25 dollars ...so it's 95 dollars for a bag of produce...overpriced and a ripoff but what can u do...u come for the experience....after spending a few hours we were ready to leave and we went to the front where the register is and put our bag of apples in a larger and sturdier bag...suddenly a lady behind the counter who looks like she's related to the owner summons us and says can I see your bag....we comply and bring it to the register and she starts unloading everything and acts as if she caught us red-handed for shoplifting and she says u stole extra...we tried explaining that we tried filling the produce to the rim of the bag...and we weren't told that's against the rules...so I told her ok so just leave the extra and we'll take whatever u deem is alright to take...she said well you better pay for the remaining apples or were going to have a problem .she started going off on me in front of everyone including my little kids calling me a liar and a thief and said if you dont pay for the extra apples she's going to call the cops she then asked me if i want to speak to the owner she then went to ring an actual bell to summon him and it wasn't a small bell it was like a church bell...she wanted to make a whole scene to embarrass us and it was a very unpleasant feeling... I explained to the owner that regardless of whether or not we were wrong...which I don't think we were.. theres no reason i cant fill my bag to the tippy top..there's a way to communicate with ppl and there was no reason to accuse someone of being a liar and a thief...he couldn't care less and she continued berating me in front of him and even had the audacity to turn to my kids and ask is that what your father is teaching you. How to steal?....unbelievable behavior and I would never go there again...i ended up paying an additional 14 dollars on top of the $95.00 i paid initially. I paid a total of $110 dollars for a bag of apples and to be embarrassed and berated. There was nothing anti Semitic spoken to me...but actions speak...

Have had nothing but wonderful things to say about having a local farm within walking distance of our home. We’ve been to pick our own and have had good experiences with the farm stand. I would probably give them four stars because I’m a tough customer and five stars is a stretch for anyone in my opinion. But I’m posting a five star review in support of the owners freedom of political expression given recent social media attacks. Mr. Lee- to paraphrase Voltaire and his biographer, while I disagree with what you have to say, I will defend your right to say it. Your rebuttal to the recent, harsh, undue criticism of your political beliefs is exactly what this country needs..sensible conversations between opposing viewpoints. While we likely don’t see eye to eye on some issues, you have proven yourself to be a businessman who stands by his product, his customer service, his role in his community and his ability to freely express himself and his beliefs without infringing on the rights of others, most especially your customers. Therefore, I will without hesitation continue to be a patron of your business - not because we agree on politics, but because for generations we have always disagreed as Americans but we have ALWAYS understood that disagreement is an important part of our freedom and our expression. Also, you run an amazing family friendly farm with great products and great prices. You don’t need the business of people who judge you and your business before knowing you and your values. Lee’s Turkey Farm has served this community for over 150 years, and doesn’t need the business of those who forget that, or forget what it means to be an American. As Americans, we should not have our livelihoods attacked because of our...
