Beautiful hike through fir spruce trees and blueberries, tasty blackberries, wild raisin, all leading to ocean views and shore walk. Sadly invasive fire ants and very invasive Japanese rises all over especially beginning of trail that are killing native plants and wildlife. Good views of pen raised salmon floating in ocean. Some say very polluting and some say on shore is safer. But I need to keep researching before eating them. I am glad many towns are removing dams to hopefully allow wild salmon to return...and more...

I use to come here all the time but since 2019 I was only here once in 2024 an that's when I noticed the lack of maintenance to the trails, they need to be trimmed some parts of the walk-way is very overgrown in several areas, I thought about clearing pathways myself but I haven't gone back yet. Something needs to be done with the red ants, either bring in several colonies of black ant which will kill the red ants or buy stuff...

Favorite hike in Maine. Great history on Coney Beach with the Civil War ships. Favorite hike in Maine. Great history on Coney Beach with the Civil War ships. Beautiful established old trail through the old stand wood to the head at the end, where you can see all of the bay, Canada and US. Also, see the 19th century stone foundations of a luxury hotel that was to be built there for the rich, but abandoned due to fire and difficult terrain.

Wonderful trails and scenery. Recommend not sitting, laying, crouching, or standing still for too long on the trails as fire ants are very prominent. Unfortunately their bark is nothing compared to the bite, so be cautious. Walked along the rock beachside as the tide went down. Highly recommend coming here!

During the summer the fire ants are CRAZY. But for winter months the trails are absolutely beautiful. Good range of climbing and straight paths. As long as you've got good knees, they should be fun to hike. The trail markings really need to be updated, it's easy to get lost in certain sections.
