This is a very nice park. It's not as developed as some of the other parks, but there are a ton of spots (some are kind of hidden) to hang out next to the water. The trails around the lake are nice to walk for exercise and scenery. There are plenty of benches along the way and even some picnic tables tucked away. There's even a small exercise area with some simple equipment if you're into that. It's also great for dogs. There's ample parking and a bathroom close to the entrance. As with all parks, expect some trash left by losers who can't seem to appreciate things that have been provided to them.

Extremely clean and clear water. Nice place to grab a chair and sit in the shallow parts. Has a huge path going all the way around the lake—fun for dogs and humans alike. They recently removed the dock. There are public restrooms available in a little barn. The summertime attracts a weird crowd of high/drunk teenagers asking for anything. Beautiful in the fall for the colors and water is still quite nice coming down in temp.

An awesome park, the place is huge. They obviously have the lake, walking track, a workout station, fishing is allowed. Excellent place for a dog to come. Sometimes the bathrooms aren't open, and come summer or springtime the vegetation on and around the beach can get pretty thick. Some yearly maintenance to allow more awesome shoreline and beach would be awesome.

Crandell Park is a great spot for anyone who enjoys being on the water, especially if you're into kayak fishing like I am. I've spent quite a few hours out on the lake, and I’ve managed to catch a couple of good-sized fish here over the past year. The lake itself is peaceful, scenic, and has plenty of space to explore—definitely one of my go-to spots when I want to spend a quiet day on the water.

That said, the walk from the parking area down to the dock can be a bit of a haul, especially when you're hauling a kayak, gear, and a tackle box. It’s definitely manageable, but it would be a huge improvement if they added an accessible kayak launch. A lot of other lakes have started putting those in, and it really makes a difference for solo kayakers, older folks, or anyone with mobility issues.

Overall, I keep coming back for the fishing and the calm, open water. With a few small upgrades like a proper launch, Crandell Park could easily go from great to...

Great place! Leave it alone.

Do we go to nature to enjoy nature?

We don't need to pave it, paved places to walk are already everywhere. If you want basketball courts, you can already find them. We don't need gazebo's, pavilions and picnic tables, if you're hungry just eat, amidst the nature you drove to. We don't need playgrounds, swing sets and rock walls. They're already in every park and school yard, empty.

How about just a place we can hike, photograph, fish, enjoy nature and the wildlife instead of trying to turn it into every other developed city park that you haven't been going to?

Once nature is gone we never get it back.

Just one more place to observe concrete, steel, and polyethylene...
