Computer Wizards — Attraction in Eau Claire

I wanted to really believe in this place because RAM technologies sent us there since RAM technologies closed down. We had a laptop that died on us and wasn't touched in over two years. It sat in a corner since it's death but had some important information on the hard drive that we wanted. Went over to computer wizard and after like two to three days we got a phone called that said they think the mother board burnt out on it and they did not find a hard drive in the laptop. They suspect that someone had tampered with the laptop since it's missing screws. No one has touched the laptop since it's death (we didn't check to see if there were missing screws before taking it in).

The laptop had 1 TB of hard drive on it before it's death and to suddenly be mysteriously missing one doesn't make any sense. With how reputable this shop seems to be, we want to believe that an employee didn't just steal the hard drive, therefore, we will be trying this shop again in the future and hope we don't run into the same problem as before. Again we want to give this shop the benefit of the doubt and will be trying them again...

My four year old All-in-One Windows 10 PC decided not to boot one day. Since I'm new to the area, a friend recommended CW. They readily diagnosed the issues and proposed solutions. However, the screen broke when they attempted to open the back to do the repairs. They were most apologetic and anxious to make it right, so they ordered a newer, refurbished unit of the same type and manufacturer to replace it, at no cost to me. Unfortunately, the replacement was damaged in transit--what a comedy of errors--so they ordered yet another one. It arrived intact, so they transferred my data and software from their backup to that computer and only charged me for their labor (quite reasonable). So, I ended up with a new(er) computer with the latest OS and better components. I don't hold them responsible for the problems they encountered and feel they handled it in a fair, friendly, and businesslike way. And, the new computer is great! Will I use them again? Yes. That's the best recommendation any business...

I called with a question and it was immediately clear I was not going to be a high-paying client. The tech spent quite a bit of time volunteering his expertise, even giving me free information on how I could fix the problem myself for free. I'm absolutely satisfied at this time.

Bear in mind when you do have a sincere problem that there is a minimum payment amount regardless of what you have done. That's the only reason I'm giving 4-stars, however they do need to make a living so that also makes certain sense! Editing my review: I have now visited a few times. I trust them with my devices and vastly prefer them to The Geek Squad. I believe they deserve every penny they charge and I do not consider them over-priced.
